Maybe Vlad will view the act of God sinking of the flagship of the Russian Navy as an act of war? Then he can drop the charade that this isn’t a war on a sovereign nation.

Apparently Russia has sent a diplomatic message to the US warning of unpredictable consequences if the US continues to support Ukriane militarily

ETA: sounds like Russia is worried they won't succeed

What’s he gonna do about it? He can’t intercept anything that has come in, is coming in or will come in. That little doggie don’t bite.

Tell Vlad we aren't supporting Ukraine. This is just a special weapons exchange operation.

I mean they start a war and then are mad that people are supporting the invaded country.

But Moscow is taking issue with the sophisticated systems that the U.S. and NATO nations are arming Ukraine with and in a diplomatic démarche this week accused the U.S. of "adding fuel" to its war, first reported the Washington Post Friday.

How dare you make us fight harder for the war we wanted and make us look bad!!! Maybe they should sanction more of our politicians so they can't vacation in Russia anymore if they are so upset

I interpret it as a threat of war. Since there's little Russia can do conventionally, that leads to an implication of nuclear war. Whether they actually mean to do so is anybody's guess, but the undercurrent is there. A lot of people thought Putin was bluffing about Ukraine but he's pretty straightforward. If he says something he means it.

And I agree it's complete hypocrisy to accuse other countries when he's the one who started it

I’m surprised they didn’t fat finger our email address and the warning is sitting looking isolated and sad in a junk folder somewhere

Well Russia's motto is Escalate To De-Escalate

LINK

quote:

In 2000, Russia released an updated military doctrine in which it outlined the concept of de-escalation through a limited nuclear strike. This idea put forth the notion that if Russia were subjected to a major non-nuclear assault that exceeded its capacity for conventional defense, it would “de-escalate” the conflict by launching a limited—or tactical—nuclear strike. While this policy has never been publicly discussed with relation to any particular conflict, the concept of nuclear de-escalation undoubtedly was on the minds of Western leaders during Russia’s invasion of Georgia in 2008, and in the ongoing conflict in eastern Ukraine.

I mean that's a solid plan. Launch nukes to make everyone stand down

Like that time he was going to cut off Europe’s gas if they refused to pay in rubles?

TD - Putin is giving Europe until “tomorrow” to pay in rubles or he is shutting it down

Also Putin was denying an invasion was going to occur up until Russia started firing missiles at Ukraine.

Chuckle at he means what he says, and no bluffing.

BROKEN ARROW: Washington's unusual reticence about the fate of the stricken Russian cruiser Moskva might have to do with the fact that the Vulkan & Bazalt missiles she carried are often configured to carry 350 Kiloton nuclear warheads.

That's interesting. FWIW, the Pentagon did come out and say today it thinks the Moskva was hit by 2 Ukrainian missiles.

There are Unconfirmed reports that the Russian Federation is preparing to Formally Declare War on Ukraine in response to the Sinking of the Russian Black Sea’s Flag-Ship “Moskva”, this would allow the Russian Government to begin Mass Conscription as well as Economic War Actions.

This Official Declaration would also allow Russia to Formally Request Assistance from Treaty Organization that they are apart of such as the CSTO which consists of many Euro-Asian Countries including Tajikistan and Kazakhstan.

It seems like Russia should be preparing to formally declare war on smoking and stormy weather in response to the sinking of the Moskva, no?

You can’t fault Russia for looking for help from some of the ‘Stans to help level the playing field against Ukraine.

Kazakhstan which needed 2000 CSTO troops to quell an uprising in their country in January. I am sure the Ukrainians are very worried.
