The Russians are saying that it was because a sailor was smoking in a no smoking zone. That is even more embarrassing than getting sunk by a Ukrainian missile.

I’m surprised at this point that Russia hasn’t resorted to WW2 style buzz bombs. Hell, they’re pretty simple to make, a lot simpler than a cruise missile.
