First tweet of a good thread by @KofmanMichael with good overall analysis:

Thoughts on the current state of the war. First half of the thread is a bit of a catchup for me, having not posted anything last weekend, and then the rest on where things might be heading & what to look for in the coming weeks. Thread. (map below from Nathan) 1/ LINK

This morning’s reports about Russian war crimes is on a level with the reports I read in the 90s about the Serbs in the former Yugoslavia. It will constitute a serious escalation for all involved in this war.

I saw it reported that the Russians have spoken openly about doing these things through their unsecured radio and cell communications. These actions and the corresponding orders may be traceable. I can’t recall Russians ever being held accountable for war crimes, but everything has a first time.

Don't know how I feel about that.
Those countries are Germany, Belgium Italy, The Netherlands, and Turkey in that order.

Same, I have less worry about them being in Poland than the originals

My thoughts as well. Obviously I want a peace treaty, but some things are going to be hard to overcome for a long, long time.

I’m all for it. After seeing the execution rooms, torture chamber and hospital reports of 10 and 11 year old girls with rape wounds…I’m through trying to recall “good Russians” from my trips there. Harrowing news this Sunday. God damn Russia to hell.
