Fellas, I have an idea. Let’s send some billboard attorneys from South La to represent them. If Putin thought the Ukrainian military was a pain the arse, hooo boy.

My suspicion is that Putin has made a call to the USG and told them that MiGs and a no fly zone are off limits but he’s willing to look the other way in regards to javelins and stingers and what nots like that

Lol wut

You really think Putin is making this very pragmatic and de-escalatory call to the US and allies, essentially telling them that it's cool if they keep supplying Ukraine with the very items keeping them in the war as long as they don't give them Migs? You really imagined that happening in your head and thought it might be likely?

The Javelins we've supplied Ukraine have knocked out hundreds of Russia's tanks and probably thousands of their soldiers, but you think Putin "understands" because the US "has to make the appearance of doing something"?

Come on, man

You give Putin waaaay too much credit

You realize that our supply of Javelins, Stingers, ammo, and intelligence to the Ukrainians is basically what's keeping them in this war right? This war that Putin expected to be much easier and quicker than it has been...

You think he's cool with that, though

He knows we need to help Ukraine in some way but those two things give him no chance to win and he’ll escalate if we try them. So we’re pumping Ukraine full of ATGMs and intelligence and Ukraine has to do the rest

I read this thread and to my surprise there is actually a legit discussion going on and then I read this. Now I will see how this comment evolved.

I don’t think anyone expected our javelins to be as effective as they have been

And I’ve heard that the F-16 is one of the easiest airplanes in the world to fly

I wonder how long it would take to train MIG pilots on the F16? Obviously longer than a month, but if the Ukies can hold on for a few months 70 F16s suddenly showing up over Ukraine it would have a hell of an impact.

Ukrainian farmers know how to work pumps that connect to John Deere tractors.

Well 70 Ukrainian pilots probably staffs 20-25 airplanes. Flying the jet isn’t that hard. Operating it a combat environment and using the systems that can really kill bad guys is what will take time.

In reality training pilots is probably the easiest part of the process. Training maintainers and getting them ordinance that is compatible with the F-16, or any western jet, is the real problem

Of course he’s not “cool” with it but he’s not gonna start a war with NATO over some anti tank rockets.

That’s my assessment. Although in the end I guess it doesn’t really matter. We aren’t giving any jets to Ukraine or enforcing a no fly zone. I think the reason the jet deal was cancelled is because it was communicated to the US/NATO that that was a red line for Putin to escalate the way past Ukraine’s borders. At the time he thought he could still win even with the Ukrainians having the latest antitank shite but not if we reinforced their Air Force.

They can’t stop us from sending MANPADs and anti tank weapons.

So, if for no other reason, they will let it go. They don’t have a choice.

And yet you continue to support George Soros, and you won't listen to facts about your cartoon character hero Zelensky
