Yes. I have no doubt we are talking. I have massive doubts we are listenting to what weapons russia just totally understands we have to respond with as long as we dont cross this line!!!

That works great until those weapons start doing significant damage, like our anti tank weapons. Whats stopping Russia from coming back to us and going hey, those anti tank weapons are now a no go

So wait, you can't believe Soros is a cancerous tumor that needs to be cut out from society whilst also supporting Ukraine in their fight against a brutal dictator? It has to be one or the other?

Well shite, I guess I broke the rules

It’s a lot harder to walk forward a red line than it is to walk one back

I mean, this has probably happened over 50 years of proxy wars last century. It's not really out of the realm here.

In reality training pilots is probably the easiest part of the process. Training maintainers and getting them ordinance that is compatible with the F-16, or any western jet, is the real problem

Russia is sending in PMC (aka mercenaries). Why couldn't Ukraine hire some defense contractors to maintain their F16s? Also if the USA and the Ukies were doing this they would probably send over everyone they need to train to keep the F16s in the air. Of course, I was just joking when I mentioned the idea, but it got my mind going down the rabbit hole.

Theres a difference between using our own intelligence and decision making to make decisions on what to give Ukraine so as not to be seen as being provocative and, we spoke to Vlad and he explicitly told us what we can and cant do and we made an agreement

One is assuredly what we are doing. The other is stupid and weak

What you're saying is pretty asinine though. Imagine you have a grief with a little guy that you feel is legitimate, so you approach him and start to fight it out. A crowd gathers, and they clearly support the guy that is much smaller than you even though you feel like you have a real reason to kick his arse.

The crowd then starts handing the little guy brass knuckles. He uses one to break your jaw and immediately loses it in the ground. Another person in the crowd hands him another, which he uses to break your nose. After he accidentally loses that set, yet another person gives him some more which he then breaks your orbital bone with. Blood is pouring out from all over your head and the little guy that you have a legitimate gripe with is suddenly holding his own against you. You thought this would be easy.

You're totally cool with the crowd siding with him and supplying him with brass knuckles because "they have to look like they're helping?"

But when someone in the crowd offers the little guy a bat, well, THAT'S where you draw the line and threaten to drag that person into the fight. Endless brass knuckles supplied to break your face into pieces is cool, the bat is where you draw the line and threaten the supplier of the bat.

That makes zero sense from Putin's (your) standpoint, when the weapons being supplied are putting a severe hurting on you. I'm 10000% certain nobody with the Kremlin okayed the supplying of Javelins and Stingers as long as MiGs aren't supplied.

I'll almost guarantee there has been a discussion between the US and Russia regarding specific types of weaponry and their effect on how each side will react.

Our established PMCs are inexorably tied to the DOD. Meaning they do work for the DOD and won’t work for anyone else without permission from the USG. This has to do with getting more DOD contracts in the future and security clearance and a million other boring HR and bureaucratic reasons. Anyone contracting to the UKR Air Force to fix or fly planes is off the reservation so to speak. As in not sanctioned by the USG.

So can Ukraine hire a bunch of American F-16 mechanics? Sure, but in reality it’s not any different that then hiring a regular soldier to fight on the front lines with an AK

And im sure Russia is telling us everything we are doing to support ukraine is bad and provocative. Its not like they want us helping Ukraine. Its not like they are ok with us giving ukraine anti tank weapons. Its not like they are ok with us sanctioning them.

Ukraine is on the offensive. They have allegedly retaken Mykolaiv and are headed to Kherson now.

It’s not about what they are okay with doing. It’s about what they’re willing to accept without expanding the war outside of Ukrainian’s borders.

Well Ukraine is asking for former American soldiers with combat experience to come fight in Ukraine. I'm sure they could get some former AF maintenance people to come to Ukraine. Again I am just spit balling and do not believe any of this is actually happening.

I think there’s a 1000% chance they could get some top notch mechanics there if they needed them.
