I posted somewhere way back in the thread that both the US and Britain established training programs for Ukrainian SOF in the aftermath of the 2014 war. That's in addition to American and other NATO forces making regular deployments to Ukraine to train with their opposite numbers. All that has obviously paid dividends, and they really haven't gotten to the insurgency phase yet, which is what a lot of the training was about.
Ukraine performed ineptly in the 2014 war, which is probably one reason Putin thought he would roll over them again. Obviously it was a wakeup call for them. They were motivated to learn and we provided the opportunity.
Had your earlier post in mind.
So fair to say the conflict would likely have been over in less than “years” if not for western involvement?

Chemical use is almost as good as going nuclear. Based on their performance thus far, they don’t have much left to engage Germany or France conventionally. We can’t hit all their silos and subs quick enough. Not sure where the our is with a hot head at helm.

the fact that anyone looks at their "votes" one way or the other is just sad;
tell the truth, make a logical point, live in reality;
good grief

Brynn Tannehill has spoken to a colleague? so what.
The Russians are going to break diplomatic ties with Poland which is not surprising since the Poles have taken the role as lifeline to Ukraine.
Dont sleep on Poland, we have been training and supplying them a lot longer than the Ukrainians and they have lots of tanks that work.

You’d also have a hard time finding a tougher and more resilient people than the Polish.
And they HATE the Russians.

One of my favorite memoirs was written by a British SOE officer. He spent the last few weeks of the war with the Polish resistance.
He was captured by the Soviets, and ended up in Lubyanka for a little while.
He wrote that the Poles hated the Germans, but they’re were terrified of the Russians.

You saw them lining their ducks in a row throughout the Olympics. They can probably wait a week or two.
That screwed them too. Spring came earlier than expected to eastern Europe this year. So instead of nice firm frozen ground for Putin’s invading hordes to blitz across, they got mud which confined them to narrow crumbling roads.

Wasnt there a massacre in Poland the Russians blamed on the Germans, 1940ish. Since the Germans were indeed mass killing at the time everyone accepted they did it.

Katyn, the NKVD killed over 20,000 Poles but it wasn't in Poland though.

I’ve read that they rotated officers through to gain experience.
They haven’t had a lot of opportunities since Chechnya.

Kinda ironic.

I think the Soviets denied doing it until the very end?
It wasn’t until the USSR collapse that the truth came out?

You know Putin is in trouble when even General Winter has turned on Russia.

The US and GB knew who did it. The Polish government in exile visited the site and determined it was the Soviets. The US and GB pressured the Poles to keep the report quite because they feared the fallout with the Soviets. The Soviets finally acknowledged their responsibility in 1990.

Serious credibility issue. "No not that mass grave this one over here".
