Because Russians are human beings, and human beings are very good at learning lessons from adversity. The Soviet/Russian army performed very poorly in 1941, they learned and got better, and by 1945, they had perhaps the most powerful land army in human history. Their officers are learning lessons right now, and so long as the State is still able to give them resources (men and material) they will get better. Since the mid 1800's, nation versus nation wars have basically been wars of attrition, and the Nation that is able to outproduce its adversary in men and material generally wins.

Yeah, but that assumes the world is static and they don't have time to adapt and improve both their tactics and their equipment. Again, so long as the Russian people are willing to endure some hardships, I think time is on the side of the Russians, not the Ukrainians.

Agreed, I think the average Ukrainian soldier is more motivated right now than the average Russian soldier. How long will that last and will that be enough? That is the million dollar question right now.

The political board has a thread with those nut jobs losing their minds because we aren’t all praising Russian and we aren’t pretending the Russia military is a well oiled machine. They think anybody who even says that Russia is kinda having a hard time is brainwashed lol. The political board is almost the exact mirror image of Democratic Underground.

This doesn't hold nearly as much weight as you believe it does when at the end of the day you're just choosing to buy-in fully to a different set of media that fits what you want to believe.
Presenting yourself and your views here as superior doesn't mean you, or the media you choose to follow, are correct.
ETA: Not that I particularly give a shite about either "side" of this media war. I couldn't tell you the last time I watched a network news channel.
