I saw the Fukuyama post and was glad to see someone made pretty concrete predictions

We’ll see how accurate he ends up being by May or June.

Watch Ukraine on Fire. I saw it today and freaked out seeing how what we stirred up there mirrored the riots two years ago here, all the way down to Nuland calling neonazi violence "mostly peaceful" protests.

How does Ukraine fit in with the other two?

They’re all 3 major events/movements and you can the media response/coverage is analogous to each other

Russia unequivocally should not be pursuing an aggressive war.

I don’t see any difference however if China had a proxy government installed in Canada or Mexico and the US removed that government using force or other means. In fact I would be shocked in that situation if the US didn’t act in a similar manner.

Set that aside, my point was specifically related to the US government using the media to garner a specific response to the situation in Ukraine to the Covid Vaccine, BLM or a myriad of other issues.

In a world with millions of unique individuals in an uncontrolled media situation, you would get disparate perspectives on all of those topics. But instead the same talking points are parroted by everyone from celebrities to media figures on both sides of the political spectrum.

That kind of uniform messaging is only found in controlled media situations. In addition, the techniques they are using are very similar to the ones developed by the Soviets to create conditioned responses using an advanced understanding of human psychology.

The US version of this was originally called project mockingbird and took place way back in the 1960s.

The CIA declassified this work in 2007, here is an outline of what they were doing:

Russia has its hands absolutely full with Ukraine, their economy and military has sustained damage that will take years, if not decades to recover from, and they still think they can dictate foreign policy terms to Sweden and Finland? Nobody's scared of you any more, Russia. The only thing you have left is the nuclear stick and if you wave it enough, somebody might decide it's too dangerous not to call your bluff.

Contrarian view: this also means they have even less to lose, likely feel backed into a corner they can’t get out of without larger chaos, and are potentially more susceptible to irrational actions.

Oddly the original Nazis gained so much support because they strongly opposed the Bolshevik communists from Russia sweeping Eastern Europe

The more things change the more they stay the same

Didn't see this in the last couple of pages, so sorry if this has been posted already.

March 12, 4:00 pm EST

Russian forces secured limited advances east of Kyiv and north from Crimea on March 12 but continue to face logistical challenges, mounting casualties, and sustained Ukrainian counterattacks. Russian forces did not conduct offensive operations northwest of Kyiv in the past 24 hours. Russian forces made limited advances around Chernihiv and toward Kyiv’s eastern outskirts after pausing for several days. Continued Ukrainian counterattacks and successful operations by Ukraine’s Territorial Defense Forces continue to threaten Russia’s long line of communication in northeastern Ukraine. Russian forces captured unspecified “eastern outskirts” of Mariupol on March 12 and continue to shell the city in a likely effort to force it to capitulate.

Key Takeaways

Russian forces did not conduct offensive operations northwest of Kyiv for the second day in a row.

Russian forces resumed limited attacks toward northeastern Kyiv and renewed efforts to fully encircle Chernihiv.

Ongoing Ukrainian counterattacks in northeastern Ukraine are likely forcing Russia to redeploy forces away from offensive operations toward Kyiv to consolidate its long line of communication.

Russian forces made limited territorial gains in eastern Mariupol and continued to shell the city.

The Ukrainian General Staff reported Russian forces conducted a new advance northeast from Kherson along the western bank of the Dnipro.

The Ukrainian military claimed to have damaged or destroyed 31 Russian battalion tactical groups (BTGs) as of March 11.

The Kremlin likely seeks to deter continuing Western military aid shipments to Ukraine, threatening that Russia will view Western military aid shipments to Ukraine as legitimate military targets on March 12.

Ummm, as long as they’re inside Ukrainian territory, why wouldn’t they be?

Yeah, no casualties reported. Looks like most of the missiles hit open areas.

Shits going to hit the fan after this crop cycle. Majority of Ukraines inputs are imported and they should be planting in the next few weeks. Nitrogen outputs are going to be way down due to gas prices/availability and Russian sanctions. Not sure US can switch from ethanol corn to wheat that quickly.
