You font get it dude. Belarus is pro Russian. Russia didn’t need to conquer Belarus to take control over their government.
And in the scenario YOU laid out... Ukraine being subjugated... they would also be pro-Russia....
Do you know what subjugation means? It isn't giving up land... thats not subjugation
quote:
subjugate - to bring under domination or control, especially by conquest.

DoubleB: A round three occurs when Ukraine sgrees to Russia’s demand for the four Oblasks and Crimea and then ten years from now decides to take the rest.
Volsquatch: And if Russia subjugates them, they don't need to actually take the land for the same reason they don't need to actually take Belarus.
In the event they are subjugated, they will either have a puppet government installed (like BELARUS) or be under direct control. In either instance, they won't need to be attacked again in 10 years.

I hope everyone can finally see Putin's duplicity with regards to these recent negotiations.

The new Russian is having wet dreams again.

Unconfirmed rumors spreading in Russian media claim Russian delegation leader Medinsky voiced the following demands to Ukraine in Istanbul:
1. Neutral status like Austria (no foreign troops/WMDs)
2. No war reparations from either side
3. Rights for Russian speakers & end to “nationalist propaganda”
4. Recognition of Russia’s claims to Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson, Zaporizhzhia & Crimea
5. Immediate ceasefire tied to Ukrainian withdrawal from these regions

And this is the issue. Russias position hasn't changed as they've said for over 2 years if Ukraine just ceded this terriorty (which Russia has never controlled) they would start peace negotiations. So this whole thing about going to Turkey for a peace deal just to say the same thing is some political theater for those who don't follow the war.
ETA JD Vance is even in record saying this was demand wasn't reasonable

Incorrect. Those territories were lost when the Ukrainian counter offensive failed in 2023. Ukraine lost them on the battlefield. So Zelensky can keep playing stupid and lose even more territory or he can give up the Territory he has already lost. 4 Territories today could turn into 8 Territories tomorrow.

Incorrect. Russia is claiming the entirety of the oblasts not just the occupied portions. That is what Russia is asking for. For Ukraine to cede territory that was never controlled by Russia and never voted in the "referendums"

Russia wants if all. That’s obvious. There is no negotiating that.
And Putin thought he could get it all in two weeks.

This is me at 16 with then Senator John McCain. I worked as a photographer for a newspaper, and I covered an event he and Lindsey Graham were speaking at. All I heard was Russia-this, Russia-that, Russia’s the enemy etc. It was then I realized — U.S. politicians will never truly want peace with Russia. Russophobia is deep rooted in both Democrats and Republicans. And when I read that Graham would just so happen to be in Turkey during Russia-Ukraine peace talks, I wasn’t surprised. I know his intentions haven’t changed. He has never wanted peace or cooperation, just like his beloved mentor"

They control Luhansk and the majority of the other 3. Zelensky can do the Logical thing and give up those territories that are lost for a Peace Agreement or continue to fight and lose even more Territory.
Luhansk Oblast: Russia controls nearly all of the region, approximately 99% as of December 2024.
Donetsk Oblast: Russia holds about 83% of the region, with Ukraine about to lose key areas like parts of Pokrovsk.
Zaporizhzhia Oblast: Russia controls roughly 74%, including the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant, but Ukraine holds Zaporizhzhia city.
Kherson Oblast: Russia occupies around 76%, though Ukraine maintains control over Kherson city and other areas.

Russia is the most peaceful country in world history. I can’t imagine why people disagree with such a Russian fact.

If tweet fails to load, click here. I.have been telling you for months that if Ukraine doesn't take a.settlement Russia will take at least eight oblasts.
Reality is now hitting you in the face.
Russia will fight until it happens. One, two or three years, it doesn't matter. No way Ukraine can sustain for that length of time.

I’ll go slower this time so you can catch up.
One option being floated is Ukraine and Russia cutting a peace deal. This has been discussed all week. You and others have pushed the notion that Ukrsine should give up land for peace. Let Rusdia have Crimea and the four Oblasts.
The fallacy there is what gusrsntees will Ukraine get that Russia won’t rebuild and attack a third time?
But of course you knew that right?

Russia wants it all. They aren’t stopping unless they are stopped.
