Thank you, thank you very much. Now, we can all be fancy and drink with our pinkies up whilst reading this shitshow of a thread.
Will I use whilst as much as possible in hurricane threads this summer?

It turns out that the boat that attacked Snake Island really was hit and it really did sink:

Have we given up all pretense of this being the Ukraine update thread?
If I had realized some posters wouldn't be able to drop it when I said we should drop it I would have never made the initial comment in the first place. I should have known b/c I've been here long enough to know how the pile ons go.
Here, let me try and get the ship righted

Mariupol authorities accuse Russians of bombing maternity hospital
The city council of the southern Ukrainian city of Mariupol has posted video of a devastated maternity hospital in the city and accused Russian forces of dropping several bombs on it from the air.
"The destruction is enormous. The building of the medical facility where the children were treated recently is completely destroyed. Information on casualties is being clarified," the council said.
"A maternity hospital in the city center, a children’s ward and department of internal medicine ... all these were destroyed during the Russian air strike on Mariupol. Just now," said Pavlo Kyrylenko, head of the Donetsk regional administration.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky condemned the air strike on a hospital in Mariupol.
""Direct strike of Russian troops at the maternity hospital. People, children are under the wreckage. Atrocity! How much longer will the world be an accomplice ignoring terror?" Zelensky said on his Telegram account. "
Details on casualties from the airstrike are yet to be confirmed.

6 months? shite, most of it is unrecognizable from 6 months ago to now.

Leaders of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates declined requests to speak to President Biden during the Ukraine crisis, officials say. They both took calls from Putin.
I know the world seems scary right now, but if we lose petrodollar hegemony, things are going to get a lot worse.
Best case scenario is a peace deal between Ukraine/Russia ASAP.

Zelensky is really starting to annoy me, even though I'd do the same thing in his position.

Oh yeah, the price of grain is a whole lot scarier than the price of oil. Plus fertilizer prices are through the moon (and generally requires significant HC supply as a feedstock/energy source for the process).

Well, that's an interesting move:

With the reduction in grain exports from some of these nations, the possibility of famine really doesn’t bode well for the possibility of warfare expanding around the globe, especially in some of the more “third world” countries.

Maybe we can grow corn for food and not fuel, and we can drill American oil.

Somehow, someway, I think the farmers around me saw this coming a while ago. They've all used chicken shite. To the point that you'd think I were in Cullman or Winston counties (hat tip to my North AL folks).
