Where could it have possibly gone?

It amazes me that some clowns on here are now concerned about innocent people being bombed.
Where were you all when cargo pants was cluster bombing ukranians in the Donbas simply because they wanted their freedom??????

I continue to note the lack of actual discussion about the war itself. Could it possibly be that Russia continues to progress on all fronts?
Well there is always Kursk.......
Oh well, at least they still have kiev.....for now.

ISW Update April 15 2025
quote:
Key Takeaways:
Two high-ranking members of Russian President Vladimir Putin's inner circle reiterated Putin's June 2024 non-negotiable demands that any resolution of the war in Ukraine must result in regime change, extensive territorial concessions, and long-term limitations on Ukraine's military after US Special Envoy for the Middle East Steve Witkoff's April 11 meeting with Putin.
Kremlin officials continue to set informational conditions to demand that Ukraine surrender territory that Russia does not currently occupy and to justify Russia's ambitions of asserting control over independent countries, including NATO member states.
Naryshkin threatened a Russian attack against NATO states in response to NATO states building up their defenses in line with US President Donald Trump's push for Europe to increase its own defense capabilities.
Lavrov reiterated Putin's rejection of Trump's proposal for a 30-day full ceasefire.
Russia may recognize the end of the 30-day energy infrastructure strikes ceasefire soon and intensify its long-range strikes against Ukraine, but the exact parameters of the ceasefire — including its end date — remain unclear.
Ukraine's National Guard announced on April 15 the formation of two new army corps on the basis of two existing brigades, amid Ukraine's continued efforts to transition to a corps structure.
Ukrainian forces recently advanced near Toretsk and Pokrovsk, and Russian forces recently advanced near Velyka Novosilka and in western Zaporizhia Oblast.

Predictions for the future:
-Ukraine signs the minerals deal
-G7 tightens oil restrictions(has been happening little by little, more and more)
-EU puts true sanctions on russia that finally hurt
-America signs deals with Iran, Libya, Venezuela to move away from russia and all sanctions will be removed(or an agreement with such conditions included) allowing them to sell mass energy onto the world market
-America and Saudi Arabia, along with other producers, increase output at the same time
Now that the russia energy can be replaced, Ukraine will have their hands untied and will mass attack all russia energy targets rapidly. They will then quickly move to their next largest export facilities.
This will cripple the cash flows at a time when russia's reserves will have been lowered to nearly zero(everything will be timed up)
Then the russia federation will be broken up after the economy fully crashes.
Break away countries will be given 100s of billions of investment in their energy and mineral output. While also getting long term contracts at market price without the tumor of russia stealing from them anymore(more profit plus more business)
The US will then try and sign military treaties with the break away members to protect them from moscovia(country formerly known as russia =) ) and china.
While this is going on, as part of the Iran deal, Iran will sign the Abraham Accords and there will be true Middle East peace.
Then America pivots to china. Signs strong trade and military treaties with India, then invest a trillion plus in the IME corridor(India/Middle East/Eastern Europe) while moving a lot of manufacturing from China through out the IME corridor.
Game. Set. Match.

Predictions for the future:
Quite laughable in that with Canadian heavy crude we don't need Venezuelan very heavy crude as we once did. This is not 2003 when workers at PDVSA went on strike for 6 months and several major refineries in TX and LA came close to having to shutdown.
Guyana, Surinam and others expanding production, there is ZERO need for Libyan crude which is already on the global market, also, Russia now has base in Libya.
We are producing as much as we can. This isn't even 1960's with giant oilfields able to just increase production to fill void left by a Saudi Embargo. Those oilfields are GONE as in depleted to a few stripper wells. We are having to already replace a few million barrels per day of production as wells dry up to a trickle, this year and every year after.
There are new fields globally hitting the market in the next 12 to 24 months which may create a glut.

Kiev quarrels with European helicopter manufacturer.
The Militarist channel reports that Ukraine is disappointed with the 55 Airbus helicopters purchased for 558 million euros. The machines are worn out, and after the company's departure in 2022, maintenance has ceased.
The Europeans are in no hurry to return, citing the risk of Russian drone strikes. At the same time, Kiev spent 160 million euros on a maintenance center that never started working.
The situation worsened after the crash of a Super Puma helicopter carrying the Minister of the Interior in 2023. Presumably, the machine fell due to technical problems.
European generosity: scrap metal at the price of helicopters.

Russia’s Birth Rate Plunges to 200-Year Low
According to data released by the state statistics agency Rosstat, 195,400 children were born in Russia during January and February 2025 — a 3% drop compared to the same period in 2024.
The decline was even steeper in February alone, with births falling 7.6% year-over-year to 90,500 — 7,400 fewer than in the same month last year.
Some regions saw even sharper drops. Births fell by 18.7% in Arkhangelsk, 19.4% in the republic of Karelia, 18.6% in the Oryol region, 21.6% in Kostroma and 26.6% in Smolensk.
According to demographer Alexei Raksha, the first quarter of 2025 likely saw the lowest number of births since the early 1800s, with February marking the lowest monthly figure in over 200 years.

Russia Spending $22M Per Day on Military Recruitment
The figures, based on official data from the Finance Ministry and regional budgets, were compiled by Janis Kluge, a senior associate at the German Institute for International and Security Affairs (SWP) in Berlin.
According to Kluge’s analysis, approximately three-quarters of the sign-on bonuses to military recruits — around 1.5 billion rubles ($18.3 million) per day — are shouldered by regional governments, many of which are now allocating nearly 3% of their annual budgets to the recruitment campaign. The remaining 500 million rubles ($6.1 million) come from the federal budget.
quote:
Compared to the same period a year ago, the number of new contract soldiers has nearly doubled, according to Kluge — a surge that appears sufficient to replace estimated daily frontline losses, as NATO officials currently assess Russian casualties at roughly 1,000 troops per day.
quote:
If these trends continue, the total cost to the Russian state could reach 730 billion rubles ($8.9 billion) by year’s end — more than double the federal government’s annual spending on its national healthcare initiative and nearly half of the country’s entire higher education budget.
quote:
George Barros, the head of the Russia team at the U.S.-based Institute for the Study of War, estimates that Moscow may only be able to maintain current levels of warfare for another 12 to 16 months.
“The system for generating fighters worked for 2.5 years but it’s starting to fail,” Barros told The New York Post. “Russia is constrained by the laws of economics, scarce resources, and there isn’t an endless manpower resource in Russia.”
Compounding the challenge is the shrinking National Wealth Fund, one of the Kremlin’s key financial backstops. Since the war began in 2022, the fund’s liquid assets have fallen by two-thirds — a $106 billion drop. The fund’s remaining reserves now stand at just $40 billion, the lowest since its inception in 2008.

Russia splitting up would be disastrous for the world. You want independent Chechens or some of the militant islamist factions they have with nukes? No thank you

"They lived together and died together": Sumy bids farewell to deceased couple
On April 13, a Russian missile attack on the center of Sumy killed 35 people. Among them was the Boyko couple, Olga and Viktor. The husband and wife were traveling on a bus, in which they died together. On April 15, people in Sumy said goodbye to the dead.
The deceased's neighbor, Olena Kuznetsova, said that the couple was riding in the bus at the time of the accident: "They were a very beautiful couple. Wherever they went, they were always together. They always walked hand in hand. Everything was fine. They died a very terrible death. They were together in this world and went to the next world together. And they were buried together in the same grave."

This is why we funded Russia's oil and gas revival, gave food, etc... in the 1990's.
If China were confident in military capability, east of the Urals would be part of China already.

And its why our policy to this point with the Ukraine war has been enough for a "controlled demolition" of Russia. We want them weak enough to bully, but strong enough to have stable leadership.

But we could negotiate with the breakaway nations and have them give up their nukes in return we pledge to protect their sovereignty,
Uh …….. nevermind. They wouldn’t believe us anymore.

Why not?
By the time this raps up counting reconstruction and everything else, we will probably have sent Ukraine somewhere between a quarter and half a trillion dollars in aid.
Especially if you count everything we have sent them since we agreed to "respect" their sovereignty.
Anyone acting like we haven't lived up to our side of the bargain is a complete fool. Its a nonsensical point.
