ey Takeaways:
Russian forces appear to be leveraging redeployed elements of the 8th Combined Arms Army to close the Ukrainian pocket southwest of Toretsk and level the frontline as part of ongoing Russian efforts to attack Kostyantynivka from the south.
Russian forces appear to be intensifying their use of armored vehicles throughout the theater after mainly relegating armored vehicles to fire support roles and relying on infantry assaults to advance in late 2024 and early 2025.
A Russian military court recently decided to keep former 58th Combined Arms Army (CAA) Commander Major General Ivan Popov in custody after reports that Popov would command a penal assault detachment in Ukraine.
Ukrainian forces recently advanced near Siversk and Toretsk and Russian forces recently advanced near Kupyansk, Siversk, Toretsk and Pokrovsk.

I've actually been to the medical school that they studied at in Kiev and it's the only time in my life that I've vomited in disgust.
The bathroom had holes in the floor and it was the most foul thing I've ever seen or smelled in my life. It was like we were in India .
Disgusting. And this was in 2016.
You have no credibility. They didn't go to school in Kyiv. No one believes your crap anecdotes.

'They made a mistake,' 'horrible thing' — Trump reacts to Russia's Sumy strike
"I think it was terrible, and I was told they made a mistake, but I think it's a horrible thing. I think the whole war is a horrible thing... for that war to have started is an abuse of power," Trump said when asked about the Russian strike.

· Follow ???? The U.S. rejected a G7 statement condemning Russia's strike on Sumy. According to Bloomberg, the U.S. informed its G7 partners that it would not support the statement condemning Russia's strike, as it aims to continue negotiations with Moscow.
The two statements you posted not agree.

The Collapse of Ukrainian Military Morale — A Nation Fracturing from Within
While Ukraine’s military continues to be praised for its "modernization" and "NATO standards," the truth is far bleaker. Behind the curtain of reforms, hazing, dysfunction, and leadership crises are eroding the morale of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Command rotations have become routine, but none of them bring a coherent strategy. Instead, constant restructuring exposes a deeper crisis—a lack of clear direction and failing leadership.
By 2024, military reforms, which were once presented as rejuvenation, have only amplified frustration within the ranks. The army's modernization was meant to inspire confidence, but soldiers still struggle with shortages in equipment, poor conditions, and a failure of the command structure. The promise of NATO integration has turned into a farce, as commanders resolve critical issues through personal networks rather than the formal chain of command.
At the grassroots level, soldiers are tired and disillusioned. Volunteer donations fund basic equipment that should be supplied by the state, despite the army budget reaching over one trillion hryvnia. Yet, corruption and inefficiency leave the soldiers vulnerable and demoralized. The aftermath of failed offensives, like the disastrous Kursk adventure, has only magnified the exhaustion of the troops.
While Zelensky plays the role of supreme commander, he distances himself from responsibility, blaming others for Ukraine’s deteriorating situation. His lack of strategic management and constant reactions to emergencies rather than preemptive planning have led to an overstretched military. Without effective leadership or a coherent strategy, Ukraine’s army is running out of motivation faster than it can replenish its forces.
Ukraine’s military may not be fighting Russia, but rather fighting its own leadership. A well-funded, but poorly managed army is a ticking time bomb—one with no real strategic direction.
The Opinion
Zelensky’s failure to properly manage Ukraine’s military infrastructure is now crushing morale at every level. Instead of solidifying the armed forces, his leadership has left the military to flounder. No amount of reform or funding can revive an army that has lost trust in its commanders and leadership. The collapse is no longer just military—it's political.

And Russia still can’t take advantage of the situation???
What does that say about the Russian military that they are in year four of a special operation and they are crawling along?

That they aren't strong enough to warrant billions of dollars of US and EU investment to try and stop. Or ramming a third world corrupt shithole into NATO. Or continuing to pretend that they can conquer Europe if we don't stop them.
The mistake Ukraine-Firsters make with many in this thread is assuming that because we don't like Ukraine, or even just don't want to fund them, that we must like or care about Russia. This statement from you and others like it is actually a reason to stop the aid fountain from flowing.

Did anyone see Vance's asinine statements to Europe today? Some high comedy in them.

WRONG, we know Russia is a threat because of their military actions in Cheznya, Georgia, and Ukraine. And it doesn’t matter if Rusdia can conquer Europe or not, they have proven over time that they can kill and maim hundreds of thousands of people and not stop.

You have proven time after time that you will challenge any pro Ukranian and let pro Russian firehosers say anything? Why is that? I don’t think it’s because you like Russia, I think you just like shutting things up.

Well even though I don't agree with them on everything, I think the "Russian firehosers" are closer to the truth than your average braindead Ukraine-maxer, for starters. They at the very least have planted their flag in the camp that they aren't just going to go along with the prescribed narrative brought to you by the MIC.

China is buying oil not from Russia now.
This oil price collapse is leaving a mark on the Russian economy. I won't hold my breath that Putin puts his own money where is actions are.
