That was my dream scenario. Russia kicks out Zelensky and all the Beltway thieves embedded in the Ukrainian government or NGOs; while, in the process, completely wrecking their own military.

Yes, with the advantages Russia has, without sending manpower Ukraine is fricked. This is simply common sense, everyone should have seen it coming.
Russia has had to go to North Korea for shells and men. Its advantages in material and men are overstated.
No western nation has an army of slaves to lend to Ukraine, or the political will to commit troops.
What happens in 2025 remains to be seen.
You are correct though that a negotiated settlement was always the end of this fight and well discussed in this thread (a brief fever dream in this thread that Putin was terminally ill and about to die notwithstanding). It’s extraordinarily rare to have total military victories as seen to end WWII.
It is looking more and more like Ukraine will remain standing and independent in the deal to come and that is a major win for Ukraine.

I asked about Ukraine having no soldiers left according to the NYT article. We know Russia has increased the amount of Soldiers by 180k in September. We also know from NATO that Russia now has more soldiers on the frontline than before the War started.

Putin cannot afford that to happen. What would they return to? Broke, no job, robbing and raping their villages?

You are really posting something from APRIL to convince me that Russia doesn't have a manpower problem right now?
I always try to treat people here with respect, even the obvious Putin bots, as long as they don't beclown themselves. Man.

The order to increase troops to 180,000 was signed September 16, 2024. Can you not read the tweets? Russia now has more troops on the frontline than they had in April.

Well I was told day one that Russia didnt have the ability to pull any of this off, and here we are. I was told they were incredibly ill equipped and worthless.
Yet, hundreds of billions in aid and weaponry to Ukraine have not proved that one bit.

I hereby decree that the Pelicans shall win the 2025 NBA championship. There, it's done.

Kyiv delayed minerals deal with US to let Trump take credit, NYT reports
by Abbey Fenbert December 14, 2024 8:48 PM
Ukrainian authorities postponed signing an agreement with the United States on processing and extracting rare earth minerals, in order to let U.S. President-elect Donald Trump claim credit for the deal when he takes office, the New York Times (NYT) reported on Dec. 14.
Trump begins his second presidential term on Jan. 20, 2025. He has promised to make a quick end to Russia's war against Ukraine, sparking fears in Kyiv that Washington will withdraw military aid when Trump returns to the White House.
In a bid to secure Trump's support ahead of the inauguration, the Ukrainian government has appealed to Trump's ego and reputation as a businessman, the New York Times reported. One attempt involved delaying a significant minerals deal.
Ukraine, home to large deposits of critical minerals, including cobalt, graphite, and lithium, planned to sign the deal with U.S. President Joe Biden. U.S. Senators Lindsey Graham and Richard Blumenthal announced plans for the deal in August 2024 after their visit to Kyiv.
Ukrainian authorities then twice delayed signing the agreement, the NYT said, citing officials on both sides of the negotiations. The delays offer the opportunity for the Trump administration to claim an early victory at the start of his term.

Can you find anywhere where Russia has said they are ready to negotiate a peace without Ukraine capitulating first?
I’m for a negotiated peace too, but I want it to preserve Ukrainian independence, and guarantee their security,

If tweet fails to load, click here. The US is going to protect the Kurds for now, to make sure that they get a good deal from Joulani. In the meantime (as reported by the British paper The Times), the reason that Joulani hasn't announced the final withdrawal of Russian troops from their Syrian bases is that Joulani wants to use that as a negotiating piece with the US.
Interesting.

Russia burned through Wagner, much of their regulars and are now using N Koreans.
Yet the Putin apologists act if Ukraine is the bad guy when they fire rockets deep into Russian forces.

No. My family is here. I want them safe and prosperous, I want them to know peace and tranquility. I care about this country and its well being.
But I don’t know how staying neutral and watching Russia steamroll another country hurts the US. I don’t know why hoping for Russian gains and victories overseas helps the US and why any true American would pull for them to destroy another country.
