Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov has announced the launch of a new defense cooperation framework, the Northern Group-Ukraine format, uniting Ukraine with 12 European countries.
He shared the news on Facebook, according to Ukrinform.
"Expanding horizons: launching cooperation within the Northern Group-Ukraine framework. Twelve countries unite to strengthen security and support Ukraine," Umerov said.
The participating countries include Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Norway, Iceland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, as well as Germany, the Netherlands, Poland and the United Kingdom.
"We agreed that the next meeting in the Northern Group-Ukraine format will take place in Ukraine," the minister added.
Umerov stressed that investments in Ukraine's defense industry are a key priority. He said that more nations are joining efforts to fund Ukrainian production, particularly under the Danish model, with Sweden, Norway, and Lithuania among the contributors.

Sorry. Not a fan of Chomsky. But I am smart enough to realize where these endless wars and continuous feeding of the MIC has taken us. Based on your logic Dwight Eisenhower must have loved Chomsky also. I have no beef with NATO as long as the Europeans meet the required obligations.

The official market isn't even close to accurate. Since Russia can't access the SWIFT system they can't buy dollars. So no one really knows. It's probably 50% worse on the black market

I’m fine with this. Believe it or not I’m fine with people not wanting us to “get involved” too although none of them can seem to answer the question of what the harm is in giving Ukraine purely defensive technology or support, for instance. But a good portion of posters (mostly on the Poliboard) are now echoing tankie talking points about us being too mean to BRICS. These were the same people calling French fries freedom fries 20 years ago and telling Iraqi war critics to get out of ‘Murica if they didn’t like it.
