My former medical school roommate is from Ukraine. He is currently an officer in their army. I also communicate with his brother, sisters, parents, and other people that I met when I went to Ukraine back in 2019. I also communicate with people in Russia that I met on a mission trip to Russia back in the day.

And increasing American energy production will hurt their economy regardless.

If Trump and the Saudis bump fists and push oil prices to $60, we can both keep pumping and keep our economies humming at those prices.

But Iran and Russia have to sell at a $20 discount. It will absolutely gut them. Not to mention their buddies in Venezuela. And it brings down inflation.

Win win win.

For real?

It was actually late July and early August 2022. I went again in February 2023.

Is there proof of this?

None that I am posting on an open internet platform. I have seen how this site gets people in trouble (i.e. the judge in Arkansas back in the day) to ever post identifying information on here.

I think Putin will ask for the entire government to be cleaned out, and Trump will counter by giving Zelensky a golden parachute if he steps aside with grace.

But no, I don’t think he will “oust” him by force or anything.

Zelensky himself doesn’t really matter much and would give both sides wins in negotiations.

- Russia an easy win: “we got their pro nazi government out of office”

Meanwhile Ukraine can elect someone who was a literal clone of Zelensky in a policy sense. Theres little to no change for them there unless you think zelensky is some incredible leader, which I do not

So for me it just seems like low hanging fruit with no real cost to the US or Ukraine.

Biden offered Zelensky a golden parachute in 2022 and he responded with "I do not need a ride, I need ammunition." Zelensky ain't going anywhere unless he loses reelection when elections are eventually held.

I don't think you realize how much Zelensky has come to mean the Ukrainian people. Pushing Zelensky aside would be like asking the British to get rid of Churchill.

You just contradicted yourself. How can Russia claim to have gotten rid of the fascist Ukrainian government if Ukraine elects a Zelensky clone?

Well you're wrong.

Fortunately you're wrong.

But given your bent, how utterly tragic would it be that we scuttled peace talks two and a half years ago.

What? They defense economics of the region shows the major players are preparing for one thing.

The die was cast before that.

Let me rephrase. Asking Zelensky to step aside willingly would be like asking Churchill to step aside willingly. If Ukraine wants to go that route they will have the chance once the state of emergency is over. Elections have to be held either 3 months or 6 months after the end of the state of emergency (I cannot remember which off the top of my head) since the terms of the president and the Rada would have expired if had not had the state of emergency. Also Putin knows this and I do not think he will push for Zelensky's removal. He will be willing to wait 90 or 180 days to get his result. Instead I think he will push for Russia or Belarus to conduct the elections in order to make sure that a Russia friendly government wins. I think that will be one of the biggest obstacles to peace.

Are you implying Zelensky is a Churchill type figure, or more the mechanisms of removal during a state of war?

Altogether a gain off .... about 9 miles .... over 2 months; assuming all goes as planned for the Russians.

The second part. I think that Russia insisting on or the USA negotiating the removal of Zelensky and his party from the Rada or trying to force him to agree to not run in upcoming elections will go over like a wet fart in church.

The defense economics of the region vaporize as soon as massive international aid does. That clock is already ticking.
