Most recorded war in history and the only video evidence of blocking troops is from Ukraine drones
Mind clarifying what this means?
There's a lot of video evidence from Ukrainian drones showing Russians "blocking" their own troops... are you expecting the Russians to post their own footage of that? Or the press that the Russians shoot if they see them to post it?

ISW Update Oct 3rd
quote:
Key Takeaways:
The Russian offensive effort in eastern Ukraine that began in fall 2023 continues to produce gradual Russian tactical gains in specific sectors of the front, but operationally significant gains will likely continue to elude Russian forces.
Ukrainian forces are conducting an effective defense in depth along the frontline, inflicting significant losses upon Russian forces while slowly giving ground but preventing the Russian military from making more rapid gains on the battlefield.
Ukrainian forces do face serious operational challenges and constraints, which are providing Russian forces with opportunities to pursue tactically significant gains.
Russian forces do not have the available manpower and materiel to continue intensified offensive efforts indefinitely, however, and current Russian offensive operations in eastern Ukraine will likely culminate in the coming months, if not weeks, as Ukrainian officials and ISW have previously assessed.
Russian forces have recently made notable tactical gains but have not demonstrated a capacity to seize operationally significant objectives.
The Russian military command prepared the ongoing Russian summer 2024 offensive operation for months in advance and accumulated operational reserves and resources for the operation that the recent months of attritional fighting have likely heavily degraded.
Russian forces have reportedly committed a significant portion of their intended operational reserves to offensive operations in Donetsk and northern Kharkiv oblasts, indicating that the Russian military command may have prioritized forming operational reserves to support offensive operations in priority sectors of the frontline over developing theater-wide strategic reserves for the entire offensive campaign in Ukraine.
The Russian military command is continuing to prioritize offensive operations in priority sectors of the frontline over long-term planning for Russia's theater-wide campaign in Ukraine, but the Ukrainian incursion into Kursk Oblast appears to have significantly complicated the development of Russia's operational reserves.
Russian President Vladimir Putin appears to be using the "Time of Heroes" veteran support program to militarize regional and local government administrations and further solidify a pro-war ideology into the Russian state and society.
Russian authorities continue to arrest Russian officials on charges related to mismanagement and corruption within the Russian Ministry of Defense (MoD).
Strikes reportedly targeted an ammunition depot near Russia's Hmeimim Airbase in Latakia Province, Syria overnight on October 2 to 3.
Russian forces recently advanced south of Siversk and east and southeast of Pokrovsk in Donetsk Oblast.
Russian authorities continue to nationalize Russian enterprises for the benefit of the federal government.

From the Guardian:
Its amazing the success you can have using unmotivated troops armed with shovels.....
I think ukranians themselves have woken up to the fact its just a money laundering operation at this point, they have spoken with their feet and are leaving the front.
quote:
The fall of Vuhledar is a boost for the Kremlin and comes as Russian troops advance across the eastern Donetsk oblast. In February they captured the city of Avdiivka, outside the regional capital of Donetsk, occupied in 2014.
Since then the Russian advance has swallowed up towns and villages and come to within six miles of the city of Pokrovsk, a logistics hub 80km (50 miles) north of Vuhledar. Defence experts think Ukraine may next have to retreat from other under-pressure urban settlements, including Toretsk and Selydove.
quote:
The overall picture for Kyiv is grim. Russian forces are advancing in eastern Ukraine at their quickest rate for two years.

The deeper limitation is our lack of imagination. Since this war began, we haven’t been able to imagine that the Ukrainians might defeat Russia, and so we haven’t tried to help those who are trying to do exactly that
That nails it.
That nails it.

Once again, please explain how this works... are you able?
Since the war has been over for several months now, how many people died yesterday? None?
Or is the war still going?

What is Russia going to do after 30 Israeli missiles hit an ammo depot at a Russian airport in Syria?
NOTHING
What did Russia do after 500 of its Wagner troops were decimated for attacking US troops a few years back?
NOTHING
The only thing that Putin can do is offer the West is a gum job. He's really toothless

He can use two ton glide bombs to pulverize an area to splinters. Then send in assault waves against cluster munitions. Lose 80% of the men in the units, capture a few hundred meters, then staff up with more conscripts, and repeat.
So there's that.
Bur the war is over! It's been over!

Let’s imagine the war ends Saturday.
Ukraine surrenders. They cry uncle.
What happens next?
What does Russia do now that they have conquered Ukraine? They have kept NATO out. They beat the Nazis. The control all those bio labs. The CIA stations are gone.
Do they get the UN to help them rebuild? Do they get help from China, NK and Iran? Or do they just let their soldiers take over?

Can't remember where I read it, but I believe Mariupol is almost totally rebuilt. Same article mentioned two German construction firms assisted. I'll try to see if I can dig it up. I would imagine the same would occur elsewhere. Who knows though

Ceilings were caving in when Putin visited the rebuilt buildings. Not well done at all, shoddy at best.

Just answering a question. I wouldn't doubt that at all

They replace all the toilets with outhouses, straight away.

Have you seen the documentary on Sochi after the Olympics?
Basically the place was falling apart even as the games were being held. It was touted as this modern luxury resort that would be a tourist center for all the world to come.
But it was basically a bunch of trailer houses glued together. And within a couple of years it was all falling apart and covered in mildew and mold. It's emblematic of their entire culture.

I did a quick google search and an article I found by Financial Times indicated it’s a sham.
Russian contractors are in charge and Russian contractors do Russian things.
There’s information out there. People can decide for themselves.

Just read it. Agreed, Russia trying to improve its image. They claim to hope to be finished by 2025. That's a bold estimate. The two German companies make sheet rock and aerated concrete and never left Russia bc they had 4000 employees working there.

The source for most of the photos of contruction fails. Hand rails and steps into walls, bathroom dividers through toilets and the like
BTW, I am thinking of apply for a patent for an automatic dingleberry harvester. Some people actually believe that patents applied for are actual patents and of really stupid stuff.

Israel actually hit a weapons cache that was there for Iran to use for their Royal Guard units. The UKuck spin that it was a direct attack on Russia is wild, it’s like blowing up someone in an apartment and claiming the perp was trying to get the building owner instead of the person actually inside
The straw grasping has gotten more desperate.
Meanwhile, rumors swirling that transformer shortages impacting recovery from Helene in North Carolina are partially if not entirely because we sent transformers to Ukraine to help rebuild their power grid.
But remember folks, us helping Ukraine isn’t hurting Americans.
