They would have gotten their butts kicked too. Weaponry and training was far superior to anyone who even thought of helping the Russia equiped Iraqi army. That was over quicker a lot sooner than anyone lifted a finger to help Ukraine

Russian colonel killed near Moscow, military intelligence says

by Abbey Fenbert September 28, 2024 7:25 PM

Aleksey Kolomeitsev, a Russian colonel who trained specialists in the use of attack drones, was killed in the city of Kolomna in Moscow Oblast, Ukraine's military intelligence (HUR) reported on Sept. 28.

Kolomeitsev, 51, led Russia's 924th State Center of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), a military unit responsible for training specialists to operate combat drones. The unit specialized in the use of Shahed drones, which Russia employs daily in mass aerial attacks against Ukraine.

Kolomeitsev was found dead in Russia on Sept. 27, HUR reported.

The Russian colonel was "directly involved in Russia's full-scale invasion and war crimes against Ukraine," HUR said.

While HUR did not disclose the details of Kolomeitsev's death or claim direct responsibility for the killing, the post said that "every war crime will be punished with justice."

That fits in well with the Russia, Iran, North Korea axis of terrorism.

I guess since Russia failed to choke off grain exports from the Black Sea (when their fleet sank), they figure to shut down commercial cargo in the Suez Canal.

That will show the West! Putin will not be bullied!

WWIII started the day Putin took power... we're just starting to realize it.

Let me be clear. I’m addressing the initial Russian attack and its ineffectiveness. It was several months after that the West started helping Ukraine in a big way.

From Zelensky's own mouth, Trump was very receptive and their meeting was very productive.

needs confirmation but looks promising...

looks like it may be a large fire on a military base, not seeing any evidence of explosions.

The military intervention in Kuwait came 7 months after Hussein invaded it. That seems like forever, now.

The coalition was able to destroy Iraq’s forces even though Iraq had seven months to prepare.

A real pet peeve of mine is when someone posts an article headline, cherrypicks a few things BUT doesn't provide a link to the article so you can read it, yourself... and lately on X the "pull quotes" are not even things the article says most of the time.

This one does give good info...

Financial Times: Ukraine’s new infantry recruits ‘freeze’ in face of Russian onslaught
Inadequate training, burnout and rising age of soldiers affect survival on the battlefield after conscription drive

A former Ukrainian officer who operates the analytical group Frontelligence Insight blamed “long-standing systemic problems that were left unaddressed for years”. Largely composed of mobilised former civilians, the Ukrainian army is led by officers and generals who started their career in Soviet times and had “never been in combat”, he said.

Commanders lay part of the blame on military recruiters: “It would be wise to pay more attention to each person’s characteristics and background to see where the guys best fit instead of sending everyone to the infantry,” said Mykhailo Temper, a battery commander in the 21st battalion of Ukraine’s Separate Presidential Brigade.

“You literally see all layers of society represented [in the infantry],” he added. “Not everyone is fit for the front.”

Temper, who is also the founder of a freeze-dried food company popular among outdoor adventurers and soldiers, said entrepreneurs like himself were often best equipped to serve in commander and officer roles, while some of his best trench fighters were former miners and factory workers.

Convicts released to serve in the army are also appreciated for their dedication and ability to adapt to the conflict zone, according to several commanders.

But every commander emphasised what they felt was inadequate military training for the new wave of draftees.

Temper said “trainers themselves don’t have real battle experience so they aren’t teaching what the newbies need to know to fight and, more importantly, to stay alive”.

Instead, conscripts were still receiving “Soviet-style” training, where “the army just passes everyone with good marks and sends them to the front”, said the deputy commander. New troops rarely practised with live rounds because of ammunition shortages, he added.

“Some of them don’t even know how to hold their rifles. They peel more potatoes than they shoot bullets,” he said, adding that he had bought paintball equipment to replace rifles and live rounds so that new recruits could get more practice without wasting precious ammunition.

Some of the internet's biggest pro-Russian trolls have the sads today, because Israel is killing terrorists. First up, Jackson Hinkle, the so-called "MAGA Communist" who has been to Russia several times and driven a tank more than once, and who was given a Russian girlfriend by Putin -- but she couldn't handle it and dumped him.

Next up, Darryl Cooper, the nazi "historian" Tucker hosted who claimed that Winston Churchill was the real villain of WWII.

Post any more that you see.

Seven months of destruction via air power and total dominance. Special Ops units were capturing Iraqi generals in night raids during that 7 months. A former coworker operated an intel bunker in the western desert where they would ask for satellite recon on certain positions. He was a major then in Army Reserve.

The internet has opened the world to some wicked propaganda. It’s full of people bought by the bad guys and some people just don’t have the ability to see through it.

Darryl Cooper isn’t any kind of an historian. He is a right wing crank at best and a dangerous man at worst taking blood libels out for a casual stroll in modern society for his own monetary gain.

His thoughts on Sandy Hook:

quote:

Probably a very unpopular take, but watching the Sandy Hook parents grift and grandstand on the backs of their dead children is far more offensive than anything Alex Jones has ever said.
