My guess is that Trump will offer Putin a carrot or the big stick. I don't think Putin will go for the carrot and Trump won't go timid on the big stick.
So, he will allow Ukraine to use Western weapons to strike in Russia? Troops on the ground? What?

The big announcement will come tomorrow, when Biden will likely announce the remaining $8 billion worth of aid that Congress authorized.

Most experience military observers like Gen Jack Keane, thought that Russia would overrun Ukraine in days or weeks then after say a decade of a Ukrainian Underground, leave Ukraine out of frustration like they did in Afghanistan.
The entire world thought this... including Ukraine.
Then the entire world was in disbelief at how screwy and inept the Russian military was... including Putin.
And as I believe you or someone else always notes, the initial successful resistance in Ukraine happened before the West thought they could even help or send anything. The assessment went from "it's hopeless" to "hey, maybe these plucky Ukies could stop this!"

US House Speaker Mike Johnson demands that Ukrainian President Zelensky immediately fire Ukraine's Ambassador to the US.
Zelensky himself apparently (from the outraged posts I've seen everywhere) went much further in "domestic US partisan politics" than the Ambassador did by scheduling that munitions factory tour...

NYT 9/25 (gifted article): What is Zelensky's ‘Vistory Plan’ for Ukraine's War With Russia?
The Ukrainian leader aims to present President Biden with a strategy to improve his country’s position ahead of any peace negotiations with Russia.
-------------------------------------------
"I think Zelenskiy is the greatest salesman in history. Every time he comes into the country, he walks away with 60 billion dollars. He wants them to win this election so badly, but I would do differently - I will work out peace."
Trump gave no details of his peace plan, beyond reiterating he would call Putin and Zelenskiy and urge them to work out an accord, should he win the Nov. 5 election.

Flights of F16's with contractor pilots and maintenance crews. There are thousands of experienced pilots and crew around the world. As many Bradley's as they can use with Abrams too. Anti-air and more weapons of whatever type they can use.

Lee, Ukraine has lost territory in recent months at the greatest rate in two years. You need to accept that fact
Made me think of this Nazi propaganda piece making fun of the slow Allied advance in Italy (it's in English because it was to demoralize the Allied troops)

You made the claim Russia has only defended as well as they have because Republicans gave them time to dig in. Back it up or shut up.
This is rich.
I believe the quote when the Moors were pushed out of Spain comes to mind "Dont cry like a child what you couldnt defend like a man".
Too much money, too much time, Ukraine needs to stop with the french wine and cheeses fundraising routine and get to fighting. They are losing ground every day and blame it all on the fact the US hasnt given them enough to win WW3 twice over.
They are either incompetent fools are thieves, which is it?
Left the citizenry with blackouts and freezing temperatures while he wasted resources up north capturing some trees. Now he is using the biden afghan straegy in Pokrovsk, cutting off the trains and leaving thousands of citizens abandoned.
Newsflash, republicans didnt by a 70 million euro vineyard with the money his troops needed to defend themselves.
Victory plan to restore power and meets with Samantha Powers and USAID, the most corrupt part of a corrupt administration, least he knows his fellow thieves well.

I believe that's a likely scenario... at some point, there's nothing left of those villages but rubble. If Russia runs out of artillery shells that might change.
though, from last week (and I meant to post this in response to whoever said that the Ukrainian people all want to stop fighting but Zelensky is forcing them to)...
WAPO (Gifted Article): 9/16: ‘Sprinkled with our blood’: Why so many Ukrainians resist land for peace
Ukraine is under pressure to cut a deal to end the war, especially if Trump wins, but there is likely to be fierce opposition from some soldiers and their families in the east.

Who's greed ?
What you're describing is classic victim blaming, gaslighting, psychosis.
It pains the husband to have to beat his wife to keep her from leaving him. Truly it does. But she just doesn't know what's good for her. If she just didn't fight back, he wouldn't have to hit her so many times.

WAPO (Gifted article): Russia's nuclear doctrine to include attacks on nonnuclear states
Russian President Vladimir Putin said non-nuclear states supported by nuclear ones could face Russia’s nuclear deterrent in an expansion of its policy.
Russian President Vladimir Putin made a fresh nuclear threat against the West and Ukraine on Wednesday, indicating that any nation’s conventional attack on Russia that was supported by a nuclear power would be perceived as a joint attack.
A new red line... and new meltdowns about WWIII about to commence in 5, 4, 3 ...

I mean... is this like looking at someone after they punch you and saying "go ahead, hit me, I dare you!"
Ukraine has already made lots of conventional attacks on Russia... supported by 3 Nuclear powers... they're occupying Russian territory, with equipment donated by 3 Nuclear powers...
Also, didn't Russia pass a law proclaiming their occupied parts of Ukraine to be Russian territory? So any conventional attacks on those areas qualify in this...
It;s like drawing a Red Line miles behind somebody and expecting them to think "oh, shite!!!"

I didn't think that, not that my assessment mattered. I looked up the size of Ukraine's forces in total and the estimated size of the forces Russia had on their border and they weren't over matched.
Then Russia's three prong attack found the ground too soft and was force to a single road where they created a month long traffic jam under fire. Ukraine had built a lot of Struga anti-tank systems and Trump had given them a substantial number of Javelins and Stingers. The Russian column was decimated.

Well, you're obviously better at assessing all of that stuff than just about anybody.
I remember two days of "well, any minute now Kyiv will be under Russian control..."
and Zelensky giving an address that he would not run into exile, and expected to be dead in a couple of days.
Then... videos started leaking, of confused Russian troops who were told they were going to participate in a joint drill with Ukraine, who were wondering why Ukrainian citizens were shooting at them... since they weren't issued any ammo when it began... and Russian tanks and vehicles running out of gas... Russians banging on doors and demanding food because they'd brought no rations...
and a dawning "Oh my God... the Russian bear is a paper tiger..."
That convoy towards Kyiv seemed like a menacing thing... until it just stalled.
And that's when someone said "it was never supposed to make it to Kyiv... it was supposed to scare Zelensky and his cabinet into running away to Poland. This entire invasion as first launched was just a big Psy Op fake out."

Well, those people don't count anymore in this... they can go live in Russia, same result as if Ukraine didn't fight.

Yeah, time will tell. Trump is a problem solver who isn't known for being timid.
