Putin's Russia is a Capitalist Totalitarian wanna-be Empire.
It's a crime family empire. Capitalism has little to do with it. Unfortunately we are trending that way but still have a long ways to go.

hear his march on Paris is imminent. My neighbor who painted an Ukraine flag on his cat told me so. If everyone here will donate $100 a day we can stop this mad man. I bet we could raise enough to send a Bradley over to get blown up by a drone
So mad.
I mean, what are you mad about?
A totalitarian dictator who pines for the days of communism invaded his neighbor. And now his army is getting chewed up, and he can't figure a way out.
Let it be a lesson to everyone from George Bush to Xing to Putin or whomever: Don't start wars. Don't invade your neighbor. Don't be an arse hole.
It's really just fundamentals that we're talking about here

I am still laughing about Russia's show of force in Cuba, a frigate, a sub, a supply ship (with fuel) and a SALVAGE TUG.

So, IDK if you aren't reading what you're responding to, or if you simply don't care.
No, read what you wrote several times and couldn’t believe how juvenile it was.
Anyone with common sense knows that it’s common to attack your enemy to defend your position and that bombers and missiles are key pieces in doing that.
It’s not either or, and you know that.

US to deploy additional Patriot missile battery to Ukraine
The United States will provide Ukraine with an additional Patriot missile system, senior administration and military officials told the New York Times on June 11.
The decision, approved by President Joe Biden, comes in response to Ukraine's urgent plea for enhanced air defenses amid a fierce Russian assault on the northeastern Kharkiv Oblast. This will be the second Patriot system supplied by the U.S. to Ukraine, alongside a routine but undisclosed supply of missiles for the system.
Biden’s decision reportedly came last week, according to the officials, after a series of high-level meetings and an internal debate over how to meet Ukraine’s pressing needs for bolstered air defense without jeopardizing U.S. combat readiness. Other allies, including Germany, have also contributed air defense systems and munitions to support Ukraine.
Officials stated that the new Patriot system, the second one the United States is sending to Ukraine, will be sourced from Poland, where it has been safeguarding a rotational force of American troops set to return to the United States. The system could be deployed to Ukraine's front lines within the next few days, contingent upon any required maintenance or modifications.

No
That’s not true
The Russian SSR was considered a threat to the Soviet Union. That’s why it didn’t have a Communist Party, it was a way to limit their power. The Ukrainian party was actually the heavyweight in their system.

Capitalist economy/Communist society
They use communist economic ideals when it suits them at times too. They try to skirt the line between the two as they see fit and to try to appease various parties as necessary. Businesses gaining too much power? Let’s ramp up the communism.

So, this would make the 2nd battery donated by the US. The Germans are on the hook for two systems and are about to announce a 3rd, and they partnered with the Dutch for another. The Dutch are also donating part of another system (including the radar, which is the most expensive part), meaning that Ukraine could very well have seven complete Patriot batteries in place in a few months.
And Italy recently promised a 2nd SAMP/T system.
Overall, Ukrainian air defense is about to take a major leap forward.
And those elite radars linked up to F-16s and Mirage fighters is what will drive their effectiveness.

Key Takeaways:
Ukraine's Western allies continue to provide monetary and military assistance to Ukraine, including air defense systems.
The Kremlin continues efforts to codify legal instruments and repressive measures intended to broadly censor foreigners and foreign organizations in Russia.
A prominent Kremlin-awarded Russian milblogger channel announced that it opened a second "media school" in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, likely to support Kremlin efforts to expand its influence in the international information space, particularly in Central Asia.
Danish authorities arrested a Danish-Russian dual citizen accused of having connections to Russian intelligence services, which is likely part of the Kremlin's continued efforts to re-intensify its hybrid campaign against Western countries.
Kremlin newswire TASS reported on June 11 that the former Head of the Russian Ministry of Defense's (MoD) Military Academy, Grigory Molchanov, was appointed Deputy Secretary of the Russian Security Council.
Russian forces recently advanced southeast of Kupyansk and northwest of Avdiivka.
Russia may have suffered a damaged or destroyed military naval vessel in the Barents Sea.
Belarusian officials continue to implicate themselves in the illegal deportation of Ukrainian children to Belarus and their re-education in Belarusian programs.

Which explains how Stalin was able to starve millions of Ukrainians who were in the groups most likely to oppose USSR control and favor Ukraine independence. And how Stalin was able to replace every communist official in Ukraine (usually by firing squad or execution) in the mid 1930's. Because they were not entirely reliable based on behavior he saw in the 1920's.
Yes, the Ukrainian party was the heavyweight in the USSR. Good Lord, if Stalin himself were posting he'd be less absurd than you always are.

Big Russian missile strike on Kyiv right now, unfortunately.

Of the people involved in farm policy in Ukraine during the famine, one was Ukrainian, one was Jewish, and the other was a Pole, if it remember correctly.
If the famine was political, and designed to break resistance, it would have fallen heavily in Western Ukraine. It didn’t though.
He had his own selfish motives, but the world was a better place because of the purges. The Bolsheviks were evil. They got what they deserved.

We wanted to fracture the country. We were stirring up trouble with Islamists in the Caucasus. We were supporting terrorism. We were using the NGOs to foment civil unrest and political divisions in Russia. We were also bribing the Central Asian states to adopt anti Russian positions. Ukraine was useful because of the launchpad it would have given NATO forces for a ground invasion. The Russians could deal with the Balts, they’d just overrun them, but this would have expanded the front line dramatically, and eliminated their strategic depth. You don’t even need invade for this to change the power balance, your forces in the country end up hanging like Damocles sword above the enemy.
