Since you didn't understand, I'll explain. I said that opposition to Ukraine based on opposition to "globalism" is anti-Semitic code.

You responded with something about globalism and grasshoppers, and so I pointed out that it's silly to connect opposition to Ukraine with eating grasshoppers.

I would have thought that it was obvious that I was saying that opposition to Ukraine based on "globalism" was anti-Semitic. I clearly was not saying that opposition to globalism writ large was anti-Semitic.

Archive.ph is either down or overloaded, so I can't read this article, but if its headline is correct, then we are heading for a much larger regional conflict.

I am still not sure how this is likely to affect the Russo-Ukrainian war.

On the one hand, the attention of the world could be diverted away from Ukraine to the Middle East, and that could make things easier for Russia.

On the other hand, the very public alliance between Russia and Iran could serve to connect American support for Israel with American support for Ukraine. It might lead to a decline in isolationist rhetoric and the recognition that the world still needs US leadership.

I really don't know.

Liberal support in the US has fallen off by 50%. Even more than that on the GOP side according to latest Reuters poll.

Only the pro war uniparty in DC still supports the Ukraine War for democracy.

Iran is about to be in a world of hurt, and now Russia finds themselves a peer of Hamas in the sense that they’re both getting material support from Iran.

Going to be difficult for all but the most retarded/seditious among us to support Russia.

I'm not so sure that Iran will be shipping many more drones to Russia. It's probably in their interest to start stockpiling them for their own need fairly soon.

Does anyone actually "support" Russia? Or, are you one of those people who interpret someone saying that the US has no business getting involved and Western Europe is more than capable of assisting Ukraine is somehow "supporting" Russia?

Personally, I have enjoyed watching Russia stub its toe and bleed herself dry fighting a third rate power. I also hope that Zelensky and all the westerners embedded in the Ukrainian government who have been lining their pockets with our money end up swinging from lampposts like Mussolini.

Yes, they do, and they’ve posted in this thread.

No, I don’t.

I wonder to what extent Israel will take action in Syria, Lebanon or Iran itself.
Hamas will just continually be rearmed by Iran and, when ther can, Russia.
The drones are becoming an Iranian signature.

Disagree that Israel is faced with this decision currently, but that does not mean the gov’t cannot sell that on its constituents, to justify a massive attack on Iran.
Netanyahu is not known for measured, patient responses.

I think it's probably best we use this Israeli War for our excuse to crawfish back much of what we said about the outcome of the Ukraine War.

I mean, POTUS has already set the chum in the water about "the world taking their eyes off of Ukraine now."

What y'all think?

Ready to pack it in?

It goes deeper than that

quote:

Moscow benefits from the escalation in the Middle East as it could allow for launching talks with the United States. Thus, Putin raises the stakes and regains geopolitical negotiating weight, shifting international attention away from his war on Ukraine. It is highly likely that the Kremlin provided intelligence support to the Palestinians for the attack on Israel, as well as weapons delivered via Syria and Lebanon. The type of hang gliders used by the Palestinians to fly over the wall with Israel is quite similar to the Poisk-06 MSN model, which has been in service with the Russian Guard since 2015.

According to verified reports, the Russians are recruiting Palestinians in Lebanon for their war against Ukraine, offering an allowance of around $350. To this end, members of pro-Iranian Hezbollah and the 25th Syrian Special Operations Division led by Major General Suhail Al-Hasan provide comprehensive recruiting support.

We are convinced that the assault on Israel was practically a gift to Russian President Vladimir Putin, who is now in a position to show off his outreach potential after the failure of his military intelligence in Ukraine.

We are convinced that the ongoing raid on the territory of Israel was launched by Palestinian units of Hamas, Islamic Jihad, and the PLO following due coordination with Moscow. The Kremlin is interested in opening a sort of a second front. Previously, Moscow intended to make a conflict between Serbia and Kosovo divert NATO resources in Europe.

The conflict in Israel is expected to degrade military stocks in the US, with which Israel has a defense deal.

The Kremlin seeks to weaken the United States.

Normally, Russia’s active malign operations receive media support through propaganda channels mainly targeting domestic audiences, which allows for a better understanding of the actual objectives of such operations.

After the attack on Israel, Deputy Head of Russia’s Security Council Dmitry Medvedev outlined what he believes are the main positive aspects of the Palestinian assault:

1. Israel will compete with Ukraine for military aid on the international stage, which will lead to a weakening of support for Kyiv.

2. It distracts international public focus from the war in Ukraine.

3. It will allow to cut the supply of air defense capabilities to Ukraine on the eve of massive Russian attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure in the winter period involving Iranian-made kamikaze drones.

4. Russian war crimes in Ukraine pale against the background of the atrocities the Palestinians are committing on Israeli soil.

5. A number of Russian propagandists, affiliated with military intelligence, who have long been spreading fake news of Ukraine trading in foreign military aid, are now spinning narratives alleging Kyiv’s supplies of weapons, donated by foreign partners, to Palestinian militants. According to our estimates, Russia, through its warm relations with Hezbollah, will send to the Gaza Strip a few units of weaponry captured on Ukraine’s battlefields – as evidence to back their claims.

Since the Cold War, Moscow has viewed Israel as a hostile nation allied with the US Since then, the Kremlin has sought to maintain relations with Palestinian radical groups, orchestrating their attacks in a way that would best undermine US interests in the hybrid warfare format.

At the same time, the Kremlin is preparing the leadership of Iran and Egypt for joining the war against Israel should Jerusalem advance deep into the Gaza Strip.Through their military intelligence capabilities, Kremlin officials seek to hamper any normalization between Israel and the Arab world, especially with Riyadh, including by helping Iranians exploit the Palestinian issue.

Russia is in full control of the Donbas. Which was their goal to get their oil distributed.

There is nothing left or nothing big enough left for Ukraine regain their control of that region.

Russia has stated all along that the Donbas was what they wanted and had majority pro Russian people opposed to the current regime in that region.

It's over. Russia got what they wanted. And the people of Ukraine will be forgotten quickly when the shite kicks off in the ME.

I'm giving you an exit strategy to save face. I encourage you to use it.
