I was semijoking.
It isn’t that it’s a piece of shite in the “omg it sucks” sense. It’s a piece of shite in terms of keeping the fricker out of maintenance.
If the US struggles with it, the eurobaws will be up shite creek in repairs and maintenance

That’s awesome. Guess we can leave NATO now. Europe is finally becoming civilized enough to defend its own people
Of course not, for a million reasons that we've already discussed. But it does mean that we should be very soon be able to spend a lot less money on defending Europe and shift that spending to the Pacific.
(I'm assuming that we don't give some Polibaws their wish and invade Mexico.)

British Defence Intelligence
INTELLIGENCE UPDATE
UPDATE ON UKRAINE
28 September 2023
The Russian Aerospace Forces (VKS) have lost approximately 90 fixed-wing aircraft in combat since February 2022. It has also been flying some of its combat aircraft types far more intensively than in peace time.
All aircraft have a projected lifespan, in flying hours. It is highly likely that with this extra wartime use, Russia is eating into many of its airframes' lifespans far more quickly than the VKS planned for. The need for extra maintenance is complicated by a shortage of spare parts because of increasing demand and international sanctions.
The VKS maintains the ability to surge sortie rates over occupied Ukraine. However, as the war continues much longer than the Russian Ministry of Defence originally planned for, wear and tear of airframes is likely to have reduced the viability of the VKS's long-term tactical air power.

ISW Update
quote:
Ukrainian forces marginally advanced near Bakhmut and in western Zaporizhia Oblast on September 27. Geolocated footage published on September 26 indicates that Ukrainian forces advanced near Orikhovo-Vasylivka (10km northwest of Bakhmut).[1] Additional geolocated footage published on September 26 indicates that Russian forces likely no longer control a roughly one-kilometer-long trench line west of Verbove (16km southeast of Orikhiv).[2] The absence of Russian forces in this trench line could facilitate further Ukrainian advances in this area, as this trench line is no longer a significant obstacle for Ukrainian forces
The situation near Verbove remains unclear as prominent Russian milbloggers have become noticeably less inclined to report in detail on Russian activity on this frontline or present bad news about Russian failures, while a discussion about reported Russian problems in this area has emerged on the fringes of the Russian information space. Zaporizhia Oblast occupation official Vladimir Rogov claimed on September 26 that at least four Ukrainian companies with a significant number of armored vehicles stormed Russian positions along the Robotyne-Verbove line after conducting a massive artillery barrage.[4] A Russian milblogger who avidly supports Russian Airborne Forces (VDV) Commander Colonel General Mikhail Teplinsky by criticizing the Russian Ministry of Defense (MoD) responded to Rogov, stating that Ukrainian forces have already passed the minefields and “dragon’s teeth” anti-tank fortifications on the Robotyne-Verbove line and that Ukrainian forces would have conducted such attacks sooner or later.
Russian media continues to publish inconclusive “proof” that Black Sea Fleet Commander Admiral Viktor Solokov is alive. Zvezda News published an interview with Solokov on September 27, but ISW is unprepared at this time to make an assessment about the authenticity of the footage or the date of its filming.[10] The Kremlin and Russian Ministry of Defense (MoD) have been notably silent on the matter and have not directly confirmed that Sokolov is alive.
Ukrainian and Russian confirmations of some former Wagner Group personnel deploying to the Bakhmut area indicate that the Wagner Group is struggling to cohesively reform around new leadership. A Russian milblogger claimed on September 26 that the appointment of a new overall Wagner commander triggered an exodus of Wagner personnel to Russian Ministry of Defense (MoD)-related structures

Russian forces continued offensive operations along the Kupyansk-Svatove-Kreminna line, in Bakhmut, and along the Avdiivka-Donetsk City line on September 27 but did not make any confirmed gains.
The Guardian reported on September 27 that Iranian drones that Russian forces operate in Ukraine contain European components despite international sanctions.
Ukrainian partisans continue to disrupt Russian logistics in occupied Ukraine.

Of course, the villa was not purchased by Reznikov. In fact, it's actually for sale:
Of course she puts this a few posts further down. Of course she does.

Putin creates "Day of Reunification" of occupied Ukraine
Ukrainska Pravda — Thursday, 28 September 2023, 16:34
Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a law establishing 30 September as the Day of "Reunification" of the four Ukrainian oblasts (Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson and Zaporizhzhia oblasts) with Russia.
Source: Russian Interfax with reference to a decree published on 28 September on the official "legal information portal"
Details: It is stated in the explanatory note that 30 September 2022 "will go down in newest history".
Background: On 30 September, Vladimir Putin signed the "agreement on the accession to Russia" of the occupied Ukrainian territories of Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson and Zaporizhzhia oblasts and declared that henceforth, residents of these territories are citizens of the Russian Federation. The Constitutional Court of the Russian Federation approved this package of documents, and the State Duma and Federation Council ratified them.

I’ll thank you to remove this image of my Cannes property.
PS: Someone told me that 8 bedrooms and only one bathroom might be a sticking point for a quick sale.
Turns out to be true.

That right there just proves the lack of proper training in Russia wether it be military or civil aviation. That mistake by the IL-76 pilot is basic airmanship, things you learn when you’re just starting to fly to get your private pilot license much less a guy that is certified to fly heavy aircraft like the one that crashed. He should have known just from his glide path that he would need to do a go around even before he crossed the beginning of the runway. You can go full reverse thrust and all the brake you want but something that big and heavy still needs a long way to stop. Just absolute shitty airmanship and it looks like it cost the flight crew their lives for it.

He’s a former 737 pilot for Ukraine International Airlines but now that they aren’t flying he’s moved to France I believe to try to restart his aviation career. He said he wanted to enlist with the Ukrainian Air Force when the war broke out but they didn’t need him having enough pilots and he has some medical condition according to him. Not sure if that’s true but he didn’t want to be in the infantry so he left Ukraine with his family. He’s a good source of info as long as you understand it’s coming from a Ukrainian perspective. But yea, “wild and crazy” and him just don’t seem to go together.

The accent goes with the Steve Martin/Dan Akroyd skit but not him. His wife and daughter left Ukraine first. He followed months later.
Then again, the poster who believes that something that makes people psychotic is being harvested from children to give power to the elite, has zero credibility.

He’s from Sevastopol so he’s been a good source of all the attacks there lately. He can tell you exactly where things are and what their importance is. I think his parents still live in Kyiv but yea he got his wife and daughter out at the very start like a lot of people did. You’d think they could still use him in their air force somehow because his friend transitioned from the airline to flying combat sorties. He was killed recently however I think flying an Su-25 ground attack aircraft.
