I think we lost a similar number of planes to Iraq in 1991.
Some unknown US official said the US estimate of Russian losses after day 5 were around 2000, presumably that's up closer to 3000 now
Based on images I've seen and the equipment losses, that doesn't seem too farfetched.

Those aren’t “per day”. Those are totals for 6 days.

I’m saying that the figures *do pass* at least an initial BS smell test. Not that the numbers couldn’t still be made up, but it seems unlikely to propagandize by saying you destroyed only a few dozen tanks and 6 planes.
Edit: Not all US planes were shot down by friendly fire in 1991. At least 6 were hit by SAMs in 1 week. Seems like this is a fairly reasonable figure for Russian losses.

I don't know about in perpetuity, but I'd think indefinitely. And make sure all the NATO nations in the area are armed and defended to the teeth. I wouldn't trust Putin and Russia at all and I'd think NATO and the western democracies would be ready to stop any more moves he would make.
