Was there some sort of western district or American district you lived in when you were in Niamey? Gated neighborhoods and such? I’m trying to visualize what’s it’s like living there. I have no idea how it stacks up compared to Somalia versus somewhere like Namibia.

Maybe if they started rolling across multiple countries headed for Germany but just Ukraine? Nah

Why does it tip to affecting us if this conflict reaches Germany’s border? Last time I checked it’s boom time in the US when European manufacturing is lid to waste. And I can’t walk to Germany any easier than I can walk to Ukraine.

I was told that after Trump was elected that Merkel was the leader of the free world. You’d think the leader of the free world would have done more to stop the evil empire from threatening her own continent.

You’d think the voters in the leader of the free world would elect someone that wasn’t senile.

One was senile the other corrupt and crazy.
Folks didn't vote for Biden, so much as they voted against Trump.
And it's setting up that way again for 2024.

Because we had to let one of two evils survive in order to end the war. That ensured that the old school European imperial mindset would live on. Until that’s destroyed, which takes direct confrontation, or some sort of serious internal collapse, the US will have to have a military alliance and presence with European nations.

Well, the good news is that this war is dramatically enhancing European security for the long term. Just look at Poland's insane level of militarization right now. Many other NATO members increasing spending to or above the 2% level. Sweden and Finland joining NATO. The UK partnering with the US and Australia on the AUKUS submarine initiative.

It’s time to fricking put a stop to Russia’s little games they are playing with out MQ-9 drones trying to damage them by releasing flares. Put an f-15 up there flying with the drone and see if Russia wants to frick around and find out. That won’t happen though because our current leadership has no backbone and is senile and distracted trying to keep his crackhead son out of prison and him from being impeached.

You mean to say Russian missiles launched into Ukranian cities actually create havoc, injuries and deaths! Reading what others have said you’d think Putin never hurt a flea.

I do think this war will represent a long term sea change in European defense spending. And overall I think that’s a good thing for the US and the collective west.

Agreed. A lot of them just needed to sweat a little to understand what needs to be done. They needed to get nervous. This war is forcing them to get their act together militarily. The Polish have understood this for a while now though and they take threat’s seriously.

But I still don’t understand why people are pushing the narrative that we need to just leave Europe on their own, with the way things stand right now. I totally agree and wish that all these countries weren’t so reliant on the US, like I agree with that opinion, but that’s just not the reality of the world currently, and it’s not the solution at this moment.

Footage of the Missile Strike on the Southwestern Russian City of Taganrog earlier today clearly shows a Ukrainian S-200 Missile which has been converted into a Surface-to-Surface Strike Missile as we have seen before; this Video appears to Confirm the claims made by the Russian Ministry of Defense that this was a Ukrainian Strike and not a “Out of Control” S-300 AD Missile like Ukrainian Sources have been reporting.

The Reason that this Location was chosen by Ukrainian Forces for a S-200 Strike is Unknown considering the only Buildings which appear to have been Targeted were a Cafe, Apartment Building, and Garage resulting in only Civilian Casualties.

Russia reserves the right to take tough measures in response to the shelling of Taganrog and the UAV attack on Moscow, Zakharova said.

According to sources Hungary will ratify Swedish NATO membership on Monday in an extra incalled parliamentary session, which gives cause to expect that a Turkish ratification is imminent.
Hungary has stated that it won't be last to ratify.

The Russian Armed Forces appear to have Responded to the Ukrainian S-200 Strike on a Cafe and Residential Building in the Southwestern City of Taganrog by conducting a Iskander-M/Kh-47 “Kinzhal” Ballistic Missile Strike on a High-Rise Apartment Building in the City of Dnipro.

Emergency Crews are on-site with reports of Significant Casualties and Damage to the Building.

Two Iskander missiles struck Dnipro today.

One impacted the top floors of a residential apartment building.

The other impacted a building belonging to the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) 175m away.

You know something positive happened for Ukraine in the battlefield today when ColtRange starts sharing videos of random bombings of civilians.

Also, compared to the rest of his party, the President is something of a hawk. Lots of Democratic members of Congress objected to sending cluster munitions. If there were currently a GOP occupant of the Oval Office, something like 75% of congressional Democrats would be squawking for "peace" and talking about how great it is that Russian citizens get free health care and abortions.

Next he will tell us it’s our fault and Putin had no other alternative.

Awesome. Looks like we can finally cut them loose and let them stand on their own two feet.

Put an F-22 up there. The Russian's would never see it.

As long as we continue to depend on rare minerals and elements that we can't mine domestically, isolationism or even "non-interventionism" is a fantasy and advocating for it is a fools errand. And as long as Russia and China continue to compete with us for those minerals, allowing them to seize territory, and operate unchecked, anywhere on the globe, is contrary to your interests, whether you realize it or not.
