Two weeks ago all I could think of was Civ 6. Massing troops on the border telling the AI "Don't worry! My troops are just passing by!" before launching total war.

I'm betting there are some dudes that are trying to backup and park. That's the reason for the 20 mile convoy. A couple of dudes on the front are trying to backup and this has caused everything to come to a halt. Gotta get the message all the way to the back of the line for them to back up about 30 feet so the vehicle in front of them can also then back up... All the way 20 miles forward to give a couple of guys that want to back up and park room to do so.

At best this was a secondary more likely tertiary reason. The real reason is the oil and gas fields, Soyuz and Brotherhood pipelines, and water from the Dnieper river to feed Crimea. All the reuniting ethnic Russians and NATO at the doorstep is just to curry favor outside of Russia from people and entities too shallow to see it is all about the Rubles.

Late to the conversation but, from my understanding, the hypersonic ICBMs Russia demonstrated a couple of years back, and claim to have in active inventory now, are unstoppable using our current BMD programs. We're working on the tech, both for augmentation in our arsenal and for defense purposes, but what I read is we won't be there until late this decade. I know, that's just reading some internet shite, but consensus is we do not currently have that technology.
