So my kid and I were messing around on ADS-b exchange. I went to look at the no fly zone over Ukraine. Noticed some really interesting things just west of their border. Like LOTS of NATO flights, mainly cargo type stuff, but a few other things to. Here's a sample.

From what I understand NATO aircraft are running combat air patrols along the borders with Ukraine in both Poland and Romania. The fighters don’t have their transponders on but the AWACS and aerial refueling planes do.

So, I asked him his background to be able to make such a statement.
Seems pretty straightforward.
Credentials truly don’t matter. They’re irrelevant to establishing the truth.

Again, the original question was a single launch. He made the statement that we can't even stop a single Russian ICBM because they're so advanced, and that our BMD systems are only for "low tech" ICBMs like from North Korea.
Even with a single missile launch, there’s an unacceptable risk that the enemy missile slips through.
And it’s not that the Russian weapons are too sophisticated, we’re trying to do something thats really hard and also requires perfection, a perfect interception rate.
That’s just not going to happen, ever.

They have been around for a few days, some refueling planes, recon and transport. RAF, USAF and NATO planes

Sirens going off in Kiev again. Still not seeing any fighting on any of the webcams and still haven't heard any planes overhead.

They most certainly do. There's a vast difference between someone who has been involved with BMD on the military side with access to classified capabilities data versus some random internet guy reading wikipedia.

Then what's the point? Why bother developing GMD, THAAD, Aegis, etc. since that's just not going to happen, ever?

The real friends we made along the way were the military contractors who got fat on weapons that will never be used.

Russia is trying to overwhelm with quantity, not quality.
It is what they do. They had something like 10 million casualties on the Eastern Front in World War II.
Coincidentally the Soviets and Germans clashed over this same ground in Kiev and Kharkov in 1941-1943.

An early thaw has the Ruskies roadbound.
Go off the road and they are getting stuck in the mud.
The front was pretty static in the spring due to this in WWII.

Back in the day they could shoot those who were unsufficiently motivated to go into battle half starved, with substandard training and equipment. Nobody can get away with that these days except Kim Jong Un.

Eh, I’m in the dark after being stuck in a room where cell phones aren’t allowed and need an update on what I missed. Not that yall needed a reason, I just thought it would help speed things along to getting the information I wanted.

I’m messing with ya. Last I just saw is China condemned Russia on the attacks. There was pictures posted of 2 young Russian POWs. Not sure if updates on battleground as far as cities taken or anything

I half expected that a lot of these supply line problems might be self-sabotage by disgruntled Russian service members who don’t want to go down as the military that plunged the world into WWIII.
It’s not the only possible reason for the problems, but it could at least be part of the problem. Id slow-roll the movement of infantry if it meant a peace settlement could be reached before nukes were deployed.
