maybe open a book and look at Ypres and Verdun 105 years ago.

Prigozhin is gonna get whacked by Wagner before Putin gets to him. Used his troops like political pawns and then double-crossed them.

If Shoigu is indeed removed, how has Prig double crossed his men? Wasn't the removal of Shoigu his reason for marching to Moscow in the first place?

Putin’s Pride Plane out of Moscow?
You do know Putin travels by train in Russia, right? The plane business should have been a tell.

All of this really doesn't make much sense to me. Seems like Prigozhin is getting a very bad deal with a LOT of downside.

I agree.
Either Prigozhin and Putin were working together in a ruse to expose disloyalists, or Prigozhin is a dead man walking.

It was easy to see how Wagner could march 850 km in 48 hrs. Russia is a hollowed out corpse of a nation with everything thrown into Ukraine. The entire world got to see this in real time and especially Russians got to see that they live in a 3rd world nation

All of the players are criminals. Think like a criminal:

"Hey I'm bringing my army to Moscow"

"dont do that here is a billion dollars"

"ok we are cool"

Anyone who tells you that they understand all of this is full of it. At this point, I think it's very difficult to know for sure who "won."

I'm not even sure in the slightest that it's actually over.

Rob Lee is correct about this:
quote:

It will be interesting to see how the Russian Air Force and Russian soldiers work with Wagner in the future. Wagner's pilots likely knew some of those killed today, and Wagner depends on the Russian Air Force in Ukraine and for operations elsewhere. This is just the beginning.

The Fighterbomber Telegram is furious. Wagner gets to shoot down something like seven helicopters and one transport plane, kill some 18 Russian aviators, and then go free? And, tomorrow, in Syria and in Africa, they're supposed to be buddies?

How is that going to work?

What hasn't appeared is a reason for Prig to have accepted exile in Belarus and amnesty for his men after he made such a major fuss about overthrowing the MOD which appears to have never been part of the deal.

If the commentary is true and his primary motivation was the MOD order for PMCs to subordinate to the MOD...how did he fulfill that by having to go into exile. Does he keep control of Wagner from Belarus, I don't see it. What did he actually get? What was the point?

ETA: This whole thing is really strange

ETA2: Did Prig lose his nerve and bolt for the exit?

Well he is on his way to Belarus. Maybe this was all some elaborate ploy to do away with Lucha and replace him with Prigozhin and finally bring Belarus into the war and invade Ukraine from the north again.
