So they’re folding at least some portion of Wagner forces into the regular army from the looks of it. If history is any predictor, the Russian Army will do what they did in WWI with formations that mutiny, namely they’ll disperse the personnel into separate formations.

AP Wagner Telegram still going off

I’m so confused. Are they mad that Prigozhin started a coup or mad that he didn’t finish it?

They wanted it to continue to Moscow.

It's one reason I doubt Prig makes it to Africa. Either the Russians shoot it down or he gets axed by his own people.

Now those guys have their families targeted, labeled as traitors, and for what? Nothing so far.

It's like criticisms from the military during Vietnam.

Sure the govt can pay fighters more and promise that they'll take steps to make big strategic improvements but can they really keep the bodies from stacking up?

Seems as if Shoigu and Gerasimov are out. If true, then Putin has been weakened.

I don't see any way Russia comes out "stronger" after this. People like Hannity or Tucker will continue with there "our enemies are watching... Russia" while the Russian gov is getting embarrassed at home and in Ukraine, outside of their nukes (who knows if they work) Russia is weak

Imagine if the CEO of Blackwater publicly declared his intention to march on Washington D.C., shot down multiple USAF aircraft and killed an unknown number of American soldiers, and then was given legal immunity and allowed to maintain his huge private army by the President

This whole thing is beyond bizarre.

Prig and Wagner seemingly "cross the rubicon" by actively marching toward Moscow while killing russians who stand in their way, only to "cut a deal" that seems somewhat status quo (at least status quo to what it was before the ukraine war).

Then on the other hand, Russian/Putin is really going to let a private merc group bully him into shaking up his high command and negotiate with a group maybe trying to depose him by force?

It's all insane lol. Seems like a dog shite outcome for all involved. Yes, they all live (for now), but Putin appears to be completely cucked and Prig and his men will forever be known as traitors driven by money. If it was about "liberating" Russia of a failed/corrupt government, they wouldn't have cut THAT deal.

Just so odd all around.

is this war ever gonna end? If so, how?

Eventually Ukraine will be a wasteland looking like the moon if it isn't like that already in some places. These counter-offensives haven't moved the lines much.

As Reagan said when talking about the soviets, better to die on your feet then live on your knees
