We will start to see Twitter posts about units fleeing, joining Wagner, etc... Ukraine will take every advantage of the disarray by stoking as much fear and uncertainty as possible among the Russian military by using social media to spread disinformation.
With daylight coming in Ukraine, the volume of posts is going to skyrocket in the coming hours. Going to be really difficult to make any sense of a lot of it.
Give greater consideration to the long-term OSINT feeds that try to get it right and not post everything they come across.
Defmon, Noel, @wartranslated, Faytuks, Tendar, Rob Lee, and @warmonitor3 are all good reliable sources.

That doesn't align with his rhetoric on this situation. He has been very careful in not laying the blame at the feet of Putin. He's been saying that the MoD tricked Putin and pressed him into making the move on Ukraine. His ire has been aimed at MoD; Shoigu and Gerasimov specifically.
I don't think he wants to be the Russian President. I think he wants to be the head of the Ministry of Defense. Despite all shite he has been slinging at the Kremlin, I honestly don't think he has anything against Putin. They used to be really good friends too and have made each other a pile of money along the way.
Just my view of the Russian political squabbling from my recliner on the other side of the world.

It’s a fair critique, but his dancing around Putin would easily be explained away as trying to slowly get public support.
I imagine putting Putin on blast would immediately invalidate his claims, but attacking everyone but Putin let’s people actually hear what he says and think “hmmm maybe this guy is someone we should listen to”

They don't look or dress markedly different from us, so we make the mistake of assuming they think like us. I don't know wtf the Russian thought process is. They've made one inscrutable decision after another in the past 16 months.
