think that this is the first video that we have from inside a Bradley in action, taking out targets
Is that night vision or thermal optics?
Posted on 6/18/23 at 12:14 pm to Hateradedrink
What is a higher value target than Russia’s best tank hunting weapon? Ukraine has already visually confirmed the destruction of at least 1/3rd of their entire Ka-52 fleet. Every loss of that aircraft is a massive blow. They only have about 75 of those helicopters left. While that’s still a good many take into account, on any given day even a top tier Air Force that does regular maintenance to their aircraft could have 25%-40% of the fleet grounded for repairs. Russia isn’t known for their maintenance prowess so there’s could be at 50% grounded at a given time. If you know you’ve got at least a dozen in Berdyansk there’s no reason to not at least try. They can see what’s at the airfield from satellite images.

Simplest answer is likely the correct one and the simplest answer is they have higher value targets in mind.
I think the simplest answer is that Ukraine has tried to take out the airfield, but Russia likely has an S-400 system and other AD there and has shot down the Storm Shadow missiles there.

That looks like night vision to me.

from Ukrinform...
Ukrainian soldiers down Russia’s Ka-52 helicopter
18.06.2023 19:39
On Sunday, the Ukrainian soldiers shot down another Russian Ka-52 "Alligator" helicopter.
The press service of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine wrote this on Facebook, Ukrinform reports.
"Good evening, we are from Ukraine! Another Russian Ka-52 ‘Alligator’ helicopter was shot down this afternoon. The budget of the Russian Federation was cut by about $16 million. Glory to Ukraine," the report says.

Israel is negotiating the sale of over 200 Merkava MK2/MK3 tanks to Ukraine and Poland, WALLA reports
Some Polish "security expert" says that the sale is likely to Poland and Ukraine.
That "expert" is full of it.
First of all, Israel is not selling weapons to Ukraine right now. Period.
Secondly, Poland is buying Abrams, K2 Panther, and Leopard 2 tanks, and they still have older T-72s. And some idiot thinks that they want to operate another type of tank? An old one?
Thridly, the other article said that one of the customers was non-European (speculated to be Morocco).
I see that NOEL has deleted the tweet.
I think that the European customer for the Merkavas is Greece. I think that this is being done so that some of Greece's 500 Leopard 1 tanks can then be sent to Ukraine.

If no more storm shadows are coming, and you need them to take down a certain bridge…

Good grief. Look at this thing:
And compare what it used to look like:
And you can see that a lot of the base of the reservoir was sand and gravel, not mud.
To my mind, the only question is when and where Ukraine is going to attack across this. I don't think it will be long.

More Storm Shadows are coming. There is a functioning production line, and the UK is all-in in this fight. But I don't know exactly what that supply will be. My guess would be about 30 per month.
The impact that they are having, though is tremendous. From @wartranslated comes this message from one of the biggest Ukrainian Telegram channels:
I think Ukraine can afford to work slowly and carefully in its offensive, because they are going to gradually strangle Russian logistics in the area. When Russian armored vehicles don't have enough fuel and ammo, then the fight will get much easier.

That depends on where the photo is taken. Sediment is stopped by dams and silt does build up. This morning Operator Starsky video showed lots of large ponds. Ukraine is blessed with many feet of topsoil and when plowed some of it runs off to rivers. Lets say that one foot has washed away from farmland, that would be many feet deep behind the dam.
Google and Twitter are very often misleading. I personally know how often Googlemeisters actually don't know much, due they have no clue on what keywords to use.

Watch this video if you like really big explosions.
I think that some of the Ukrainians were certainly injured by this blast. I feel certain they didn't know that it was a VBIED or how big the blast would be.
quote:
The Russian Army sent a T-54/55 VBIED filled with 6 tonnes of TNT at AFU lines near Marinka, Donetsk Oblast.
The attempt failed as the remotely-controlled bomb ran into a mine 100m from the front line, and was then hit by a Ukrainian RPG shot, causing a huge explosion.

This is interesting and suggests that a channel was previously dredged to the cooling pond at the nuke plant. A diesel pump could provide water to the COOLING pond if need be. I always wondered if enough pipe could be laid to pump any supplemental water as needed. It's not the case that a constant flow of water from the reservoir was needed to cool the plant. That is what the cooling pond is for.

Ukraine is suffering heavy casualties, they won't be in this much longer.

I’m sure you’re right, Strannix. The Ukes were only in this thing for entertainment purposes, so when it’s no longer fun they’ll just withdraw to…
Wait.
Wait.
