The Russian commander navigated the ship in a fashion to use its hull to completely destroy the final two attacking drones.

yep... the captain of the ship heroically rammed the remaining two drone ships thereby eliminating the ongoing threat...

Yea, it was a huge explosion. If two of those went off beside the ship, that ship is severely damaged.

The Ivan Khurs, a Yuriy Ivanov-Class or Project 18280 Intelligence Ship arrived back in the Port City of Sevastopol in Occupied-Crimea early this morning after “Rumors” over the last 24 Hours that the Ship had been Significantly Damaged by a Ukrainian Underwater-Drone which was filmed Hitting the Ship; according to Local Sources the Ship is currently Moored in the South Bay of Sevastopol with No Damage on either its Port or Starboard Side, so it’s likely that that the Drone may have either Malfunctioned or possibly been Damaged when it ran into the Ship causing the Explosives not to Detonate
This is the only Yuriy Ivanov-Class/Project 18280 Surveillance Ship that is with the Black Sea’s Fleet so there is no way to confuse this Ship with others even though the Name and Ship ID is painted over like was done with most Russian Naval Ships towards the beginning of the War.

Article in Foreign Policy on the new bi-partisan effort to persuade Biden to send ATACMS:
quote:
Congress, fresh from seemingly securing a U.S. promise to provide advanced fighter jets to Ukraine, is now urging the Biden administration to send long-range weapons to Kyiv.
In a letter sent to U.S. President Joe Biden and obtained by Foreign Policy, the leaders of the bipartisan Helsinki Commission urged the White House to greenlight the delivery to Ukraine of the U.S.-made Army Tactical Missile System (ATACMS), a weapon that can be fired from Kyiv’s U.S.-provided Multiple Launch Rocket Systems and hit Russian targets nearly 200 miles away.
“Now that the decision has been made to send F-16s, now is the time to commit to Ukraine’s full victory and deliver all the tools needed,” Reps. Joe Wilson and Steve Cohen wrote in the May 25 letter, which was also signed by Rep. Victoria Spartz, a member of the commission. “Nearly every weapon system requested by Ukraine has been delivered after intense pressure. Let us not wait for another pressure campaign to deliver ATACMS.”
Some members of Congress and U.S. officials think the deliveries of ATACMS to Ukraine could be decisive in putting Russian troops, ships, and bases on occupied Ukrainian soil at risk. After Ukraine first began raking Russian lines with High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems, or HIMARS, it received from the United States last year, cutting supply lines, knocking out command posts, and crashing weapons depots, enemy troops began to move out of range and hunker down.
quote:
Wilson, Cohen, and Spartz, the U.S. lawmakers pushing Biden to take the next step in delivering ATACMS to Ukraine, recently returned from a congressional delegation to the war-torn country, where Ukrainian officials told them that their military was staving off the Russians in all areas of the battlefield, except for the skies.

Russian Public Appears to Be Souring on War Casualties, Analysis Shows
quote:
FilterLabs AI, which uses messages on the Telegram app, posts on social media and discussions on internet forums to track Russian public sentiment on a range of topics, has found that views on war casualties have become increasingly negative since late February.
quote:
U.S. officials say that while Russian public opinion has been difficult to accurately track, they too believe cracks in support have begun to show in recent months.
quote:
Polls in Russia, or any other authoritarian country, are an imprecise measure of opinion because respondents will often tell pollsters what they think the government wants to hear. Pollsters often ask questions indirectly to try to elicit more honest responses, but they remain difficult to accurately gauge.
FilterLabs tries to address this shortcoming by constantly gathering data from small local internet forums, social media companies and messaging apps to determine public sentiment. It also looks for platforms where Russians may feel freer to voice honest opinions, said Jonathan Teubner, the chief executive of FilterLabs.

I would love ATACMS because they would give Ukraine another long range weapon but that doesn’t need to be launched from the air and we already have plenty HIMARS launchers even though they supposedly were made so they couldn’t fire ATACMS, I’m not so sure I believe that. If true it won’t be hard to re-rig them for ATACMS. Biden is just too in bed with China which is why he’s balked at aircraft and long range missiles. Not trying to be political but it’s just so obvious how in bed he is with China and wants their money for his personal use. That’s the biggest obstacle. We don’t have many ATACMS but we do have done that are eat the end of their service life that normally we would dispose of but why not send them on to Ukraine instead? We wouldn’t be able to send a bunch but because we are looking for the new weapon rather the ATACMS but its production line still exists. You can’t tell me we can’t send them 50-100. Even that little of a number combined with the Storm Shadows really could be the difference for Ukraine. Cutting supply lines and moving x command posts further from the front would cause an avalanche effect. Russia does not have strong junior officers or NCOs that are allowed to make decisions on their own based on how they see the battlefield. Everything has to go up the chain. Moving the high ranking officers further away from the front means more time to get approval back to the front lines giving Ukraine the chance to make breakthroughs over poorly led Russian units led by superior tanks and armored vehicles. In the end though I’ll be absolutely shocked if Biden ever budges on ATACMS.

Lockheed actually just restarted the production line for the ATACMS that we are selling to Morocco.

I wonder if Lockheed responded to the International Fund for Ukraine (IFU) EOI Long Range Strike request which closed on May 4.

At least present the entire thread from https://twitter.com/MT_Anderson/status/1662199953534648321.
Further in the thread there is discussion on whether it is in fact the same ship, due to differences in the super structure and also whether there is (or not) damage on the port side as evidenced in this part of the thread.
quote:
There doesn't appear to be damage but satellite imagery is not exactly suited for that. There does look to be something off the port side towards the stern but could be part of the mooring? I've included a view from 24 Apr 2023 which was the last time I had her in port.

May 26 & April 24 look to be different ships..
Look at the identifying structure of the ship..

the superstructure is interesting... and I hear you, but I chalked that up (and maybe incorrectly) to the sat image angle.

There are differences there..
Looks like a "similar" ship to fool sat..

let me know if you want the original images from the two dates, happy to send your way...
As for the WarMonitors image - he has put out several images and videos which appear to be of different ships due to changing boat covers and antenna set ups so I don't place much reliability on his content.
I am still very much in the "we don't know camp" - as we saw with the Moskva there was ample BS from both sides for most of the week before confirmation.
Also, I am assuming by your posting style you are Texas Forever/Flint Eastwood under another suspension again? Thank you for the find of MT_Anderson he looks to be a relatively unbiased source of information.

Further evidence that Zaluzhny is alive and well (with legs). I think that Ukraine is becoming quite adroit at popping Russian disinformation bubbles around significant figures and events when they have the goods. It will be interesting to see how the Ivan Khurs story pans out if the attack on it was in fact successful.
