We talk on the war itself and not the politics. Chicken has allowed us to do that and he asked the politics be left out of this thread, if you have a problem with that take it up with Chicken. Its a war thread (like you acknowledge), not a political thread. Go away unless youre talking about the war itself. And its nearly 3000 pages, so some like it. Political board wackos can't make a 20 page thread because they repeat endless crap over and over. Complain to Chicken.

You made my point. I’m not in favor of Russia. You Ukraine supporters are dumb asf thinking Ukraine had a chance. You got embarrassed yesterday because the last few days isn’t the picture you’ve been painting. Enjoy Russia at Natos doorstep instead of the other way you hoped.

Not at all. Genuine St. Petersburg Troll Farm baws, as obvious as the sun rises in the east and sets in the west.

Then we have had some politards who make shite up. One has claimed that he gets info about how Nazi Ukraine is from a friend who is married to a Ukrainian. The problem is that I personally know that friend who is all about Slava Ukraine and has stated that in his travels there never saw any sign of such extremism as Nazis, not even close. Then there was some dude from Mississippi who either met his demise or got the ban hammer. He constantly screamed about how Russia was going to nuke everyone in the USA so give them what they want. He was a very special case for sure. Oh he was quite prolific on the Politard board with a lot of amen's and yeehaws from the usual suspects.

I’m confused: I thought the PT position was that Russia was justified in starting this war because NATO was attempting to reach his doorstep, and he was justified in repelling that.
Now Russia’s goal is to reach NATO’s doorstep at even more points of the border than before? You would think Russia would have celebrated Finland instead of throwing a temper tantrum

Reuters:
I honestly feel sure that this is incorrect. If this were any kind of either US or Russian operation, the docs would not have been uploaded to a Minecraft Discord and sat there for a month, essentially unnoticed except by the few of his friends in that channel that "MrLucca" was trying to impress.
And, like I said before, any kind of intentional disinformation campaign about Ukraine is also not going to involve classified documents about the state of the outbreak of the Marburg virus in Equatorial Guinea.
I just can't imagine how this is an intentional operation by either the US or Russia.
I take today's comments in that Reuters article as an attempt to pre-emptively deflect blame on to Russia, using the fact that some Russian Telegram blogger eventually changed the casualty figures as an excuse to point the finger in that direction.

WASHINGTON, April 7 (Reuters) - Russia or pro-Russian elements are likely behind the leak of several classified U.S. military documents posted on social media that offer a partial, month-old snapshot of the war in Ukraine, three U.S. officials told Reuters on Friday, while the Justice Department said separately it was probing the leak.
The documents appear to have been altered to lower the number of casualties suffered by Russian forces, the U.S. officials said, adding their assessments were informal and separate from the investigation into the leak itself.
The U.S. officials spoke on condition of anonymity given the sensitivity of the matter and declined to discuss the documents in any detail.

We, the most powerful military, spent 20 years to never fully control afg.
Oh bullshite! What a bunch of crap. The USA was not vested in an all out war in Afghanistan lol.
The US briefly reached 100,000 troops in Afghanistan, but averaged less than 30,000 for most of the 20 years we were there. So please put that “most powerful military” shite to rest.

Russia must be paying some 4D chess. They invaded Ukraine knowing that Finland would join putting NATOs border an easy afternoon drive from St Petersburg. NATO is fricked I tell ya. Well played Russia.

I posted it yesterday, but I want to talk about this some more. This is the graphic that @DefMon3 made from the leaked data:
Notice the Soldiers per km in each area of the front:
Kharkiv: 251
Bakhmut: 271
Donetsk: 127
Zaporizhzhia: 107
Kherson: 56 (note that this front is in red and mislabeled as also being Zaporizhzhia)
There have been times recently when I have wondered if Ukraine should maybe reconsider its offensive plans, since Russia has done some considerable mining and entrenching in the South. "Maybe, if Ukraine is concerned that they might not make it to the Sea of Azov, they should consider attacking in the Svatove-Kreminna area instead," I've said to myself.
But no. I know that this assessment is from March 1st, and Russia has sent reinforcements to the Zaporizhzhia front since then, but that would have to be a LOT of reinforcements to justify instead choosing to attack in the northeast.

Lol, no they have not. You keep putting your foot in your mouth. We read about this stuff everyday. You are not living in reality, independent of who you support.

I'm guessing there was just some minecraft nerd that worked at the pentagon who wanted to impress his virtual friends.
Sounds alot better if it were an intricate plot from russia.

You counter Russian propaganda with British propaganda?

While there is always a vein of truth to that website, there is also a lot of well crafted Russian propaganda. It is a well known for well over a decade source of Russian disinformation.

This is another reason nobody likes this war/thread, you can’t let others on here unless they’re in favor of Ukrainian freedom, yet you don’t support our opinions and input in a free country on a message board.
Plenty of folks love this thread.
You and people like you aren’t here to discuss war updates and such, you are here to be a prick and instigate based in false info or half truths to further your agenda

That's what I thought too, but I keep coming back to the fact that all of the images were slides that had been printed out on paper, and then someone took photos of the papers and uploaded them.
That makes it seem that MrLucca did not have access to the original electronic files of the slides. Because, otherwise, why not just share the slides themselves?
So, I was then coming around to the idea that some idiot at the Pentagon has lazily been been violating security protocols by printing out stuff and bringing it home, and his teenage son decided to take some pics of it with his phone, upload the images, and impress his friends online.
On the other hand, the argument against that would be the sheer volume of files leaked. If you can impress your friends with top secret files about the war in Ukraine, why would you also need to impress them with classified documents about the Marburg virus outbreak in Equatorial Guinea? You can impress your friends with one or two secret files -- you don't need 100.
That actually suggests a real intent to harm US interests by leaking the documents. And the origin of the files is very much in question.
Most of the files were uploaded to the Wow_Mao Discord (he's apparently a Youtuber) and then copied to the Minecraft Map Discord.
MrLucca claimed to have found the docs on another Discord:
From @AricToler:
quote:
Sourcing updates:
Lucca apparently got these leaked files from another poster on a Discord server called "Thug Shaker Central" (not joking). He then reposted them on the WowMao server. The leaked files went back at least to January of this year.
That seems to be assuming that MrLucca is not lying. The (now deleted) MrLucca Twitter account definitely seemed to be the same person as in the Discord:
I have the feeling that MrLucca is going to get caught by the feds very quickly, if he hasn't been already. None of this seems like a professional operation in any way.
