I don't know what you mean by that. Obviously, both sides will have to fight in the winter. My point is simply that the mud, the rasputitsa as it's called in Russian, is a time when neither side will be able to do much. But then, the ground will freeze, and offensive operations will be possible.

Many people are misapplying how winter will affect both sides. Rasputitsa has affected both sides more or less equally on the ground. BTW I recently learned it is called bezdorizhzhya in Ukraine. Offensive maneuver grounds to a halt. However, some people seem to think winter AKA General Frost or General Winter will favor the Russians. Once the ground freezes the advantage goes to the side best prepared and equipped for fighting in the weather. The Ukrainians are used to their winter as are Russians so then the balance shifts to the one best equipped. Anyone that thinks Russia is the best equipped of the two militaries just hasn't been paying attention.

Rasputitsa has probably been more of a hindrance to Ukraine simply because they have been more offensively minded. Actual winter likely favors Ukraine due to advantages in personal cold weather gear as well as food and other creature comforts.

Any good shaslik recipes? Field expedient of course.

Once the meat is marinated wrap it around the barrel of your PK or other machine gun and cover it with chicken wire. Once you have killed 15 Russians check to see if it is done, if not cooked through repeat.

Russian missile stocks as reported by Ukrainian MOD. Sharing because I find it interesting more so than knowing it’s accurate. That said, anyone know how the Ukrainian MOD may have come by these original numbers and usage? The usage I get within reason from documented attacks. Interested in what some of you think on accuracy and how.

The whole Ukrainian war is a smoke screen! China Iran and the ruskies are throwing nothing but Cold War tech, and sick and elderly. They’re gathering information on our tactics and depleting our own stockpiles and waiting for the real attacks

So besides nukes, which weapon systems are Russia holding back and not using in Ukraine?

We should probably find a better translator. I feel like the word Nazi is getting confused with 'Neighbor who's land I want to take because it has good resources'.

There are people in the world, right now, who unironically believe this.

The hundreds of T-14 Armata tanks and Su-57 fighters, obviously.

Wonder why it’s being pushed now then? Prep for spring/summer by the time they’d be approved and delivered?

No idea on the lead time of delivery/training for this system.

I mean the Ukrainians can get some utility out of the aircraft even during winter but the MQ-1 has zero anti-ice or de-icing systems on the airplane. Icing can and has put a lot of those birds into the dirt over the years. Also the camera can’t see through clouds. If you’ve looked at a weather map of Ukraine lately it’s been about 70-80% overcast for the past few weeks. I suppose in theory you could have ground dudes designate targets for GPS guided munitions if the drones can find a spot with clear weather above a low cloud deck.

Their professional army is damn near all dead or wounded. They plan on throwing prisoners and conscripts at another front?

It will take Russia decades to recover from this.

They wont.

The sanctions are staying in place for awhile;
Zero foreign investment, nobody is going to invest in Russia until the collapse is complete.

they cant invest in it, too risky even without the sanctions. too much of a risk of getting a phony tax bill and only having 24 hours to come up with more cash than the company is worth....then its bought by shell company and sold to semi-nationalized company for pennies.

go read tom clancy command authority....its a fiction book from 2013 that essentially predicts all of the shite that is going on right this second.
