BREAKING: Ukraine confirms that it has received its first NASAMS systems

About damn time. The Ukrainians have been asking for SAMs since before the invasion. I guess over 8 months late is better than never. Maybe Biden will get around to selling F16s to Ukraine by Christmas 2024.

That's a hell of a wasted voyage to go from the Dardanelles (Mediterranean) back to Vladivostok (Far west Pacific ocean).

Over 300,000 people have left Mariupol since The Feb invasion. There’s an estimated 100,000 left. The city was slightly more Ukrainian than Russian pre invasion.

That Twitter account may not be but the guy in the video is a Ukraine Nazi apparently. He's just saying what is going on. Why would he say all of that when he is clearly pro-Ukraine if it wasn't accurate?

Arguendo his numbers are accurate. What are you saying? If a majority of a city or area wants to be part of another country then they should just get their wish?

Amazing what happens when invaders kill, kidnap and steal from citizens.

Stout you seems like a good guy… let me ask you something…

If country B is invaded by country A and Country B is supported financially and Militarily by every major western democracy in the world and country A is supported militarily by Iran and North Korea.

Why would any sane American not fully support country B?

Just curious.

What difference does this make? Unilateral secession is still illegal under international law, as is an invasion. That the population was supposedly pro-Russian didn't give Russian forces pause though.

Pre Feb there were more Ukes than Russians in Mariupol. After Russia lays siege to the city and thousands flee its more Russian. I guess it is now.

Russian marines have said their 'incompetent' generals are treating them as 'cannon fodder' after their unit suffered devastating losses, with 300 men reportedly killed or wounded in four days of heavy fighting in eastern Ukraine.

Marines from Russia's 155th Naval Infantry Brigade wrote a scathing letter to their regional governor, claiming they had lost 300 servicemen in a four day massacre in Pavlivka thanks to the catastrophic planning of Generals Rustam Muradov and Zurab Akhmedov.

quote:

The marines demanded in their letter that Vladimir Putin is personally told of the alleged massacre and sets up an independent military commission.

The letter comes as Russian soldiers from a different battalion claimed that more than 500 of their comrades had been killed in the village of Makiivka, an hour north of Pavlivka.

Indeed, new figures suggest that more than 100,000 Russian soldiers have been killed so far in the war.

Russia responds admitting they’re getting their asses kicked but it’s not that bad.

“We have contacted the commanders,” he wrote. “Yes, there are losses. There are heavy battles going on. But the losses are not as big as they say in this appeal.”

Russia’s Ministry of Defense, issuing an unusual denial to a specific complaint from its servicemen, said in response to the letter that the division had not suffered “significant losses.”

The Russian Ministry of Defense (MoD) issued a rare statement on November 7 in response to extensive Russian milblogger outcry on November 6 about reported extensive losses and poor command within the 155th Naval Infantry Brigade of the Pacific Fleet

The Russian MoD issued a rare response on November 7 to the outcry on and claimed that less than one percent of the brigade was killed and less than seven percent was wounded within the past 10 days, and that Ukrainian forces suffered high losses instead

The Russian MoD has remained remarkably tight-lipped about milblogger critiques of Russian failures throughout the war in Ukraine — unlike the Kremlin, which will occasionally indirectly address milblogger narratives. The MoD’s public response to milblogger outcry indicates that some Russian milbloggers have considerable leverage to shape MoD interactions in the information space and additionally suggests that the situation in Pavlivka is dire enough to warrant a response.

Imagine being a conscript and getting this lame-arse "USO" show. I think spending the money on ammo and socks would do a lot more for morale.
