re: Latest Updates: Russia-Ukraine Conflict

Oh boy, folks I talked to this morning are saying Black Sea stuff is not a one time thing. It is the first of a number of moves designed to signal Russia is vulnerable in Crimea. Russia was done with grain shipment agreement and this was the Ukrainian way of saying we’ve played according to the rules when it comes to Crimea but “gloves are off” now. The number of KIA yesterday may have been under estimated purposefully. This has happened a few times now the first time was around the sinking of the Mockba and has to do with GRU reports back to the Kremlin. The number of Russian MLRs taken off the map yesterday is the most telling of all the stats, retaliation is coming today but the Missile Defence systems that have been delivered in the last 2 months should blunt things a good deal look for an 85% kill rate. There is open warfare amongst RU WG now with intercepts detailing the resentment between the three factions and accounts of fragging and summary executions and “accidents” the heart of the issue is pay discrepancies and a lack of respect. There is also an issue of WG autonomy. The most pressing thing is that yesterday may have pushed the total number of widows pensions past the 100000 mark. This would include RU WG and MOF. This may be significant to the Kremlin it may not be. Those people on this thread from the beginning will recall that my people said when the number of KW M presumed dead reached 100k that the Kremlin may be compelled to declare victory and sue for peace. So they are saying the same thing but they also caution that the old adage in for a penny in for a pound may be at play ie too late now regime change is what’s at stake. Presumably everyone knows that Gazprom and GB are/were VP personal piggy bank, well there are some crazy things happening at the moment that are hard to make sense of.
Iran is being promised things that Russia and China can’t deliver on and Iran knows this but is growing increasingly desperate for any sort of support.
That’s all I can remember from three conversations…
ETA which one of you Russian Khunts is up this early lol? All of them. Well enjoy the good news boys!

Wait ... Ukraine claimed to have killed ~950 Russians yesterday, which I believe is the highest one-day total of the war.
And you are saying that's an underestimation? Or that the official Russian report of the Sevastopol attack is an underestimation? I'm confused.

British Defence Intelligence
UPDATE ON UKRAINE 30 October 2022
INTELLIGENCE UPDATE
On 27 October 2022. Russian mogul Yevgeny Prigozhin posted online apparently admitting allegations that his private military company, the Wagner Group, had alfered its standards and was recruiting Russian convicts suffering from serious diseases including HIV and Hepatitis C.
The role of Wagner Group has evolved significantly since Russia's invasion of Ukraine. In previous conflicts, it maintained relatively high recruitment standards, with many of its operators having previously served as professional Russian soldiers. The admission of prisoners with serious medical concerns highlights an approach which now prioritises numbers over experience or quality.
Prigozhin's has recently discussed plans to create a 200km long defensive 'Wagner Line' in eastern Ukraine. This endeavour would require a large labour force. There is a realistic possibility that some of the convict recruits will initially be put to work constructing the defences.

Looking at Satellite passes over Sevastopol, it doesn’t look like the damage to any vessel was significant. Perhaps the attack will be enough to force the RF to keep their vessels in port.

Russians blow up bridges due to approach of Ukraine’s Armed Forces
Sunday, 30 October 2022, 13:13
Serhii Haidai, the head of Luhansk Oblast Military Administration, has stated that the Russian occupiers blew up a bridge over the Krasna River near the village of Krasnorichenske in Luhansk Oblast, because they were afraid that Ukraine’s Armed Forces were closing in.
Source: Haidai on Telegram
Quote from Haidai: "They are scared because we are very close. The Russians blew up the bridge over the Krasna River near Krasnorichenske."
Details: Haidai has revealed photos of the wrecked bridge.
He also added that the occupiers had blown up another bridge near Kreminna (Luhansk Oblast) on 29 October.

I think the headline was misleading, it's 950 for 6 days...
from the link below...
The total combat losses of the enemy from February 24 to October 30 approximately amounted to:
personnel - about 71,200 (+950);

Both, waiting to figure out casualties on those ships. Think USS Cole at a minimum.

Not six days. Read it again.

Ukraine doesn’t give accurate reporting of their own casualties. Why should we believe what the report on Russian casualties?
Posted on 10/30/22 at 7:55 am to GeauxxxTigers23
Oh I’m never talking about Ukraines accounting of Russias war dead. Just assume I’m speaking about Russias accounting of their own war dead.
Posted on 10/30/22 at 7:56 am to LSUCanFAN
Okay, who’s counting the Ukrainian casualties?
Posted on 10/30/22 at 7:57 am to GeauxxxTigers23
Us and Ukraine. Ukraine will give an accurate total when Russia heads back to Russia.

Definitely a mistake. Still think it's for 6 days.
Edit: let me retract that. Seems like it is true for 1 day. Hope its true.
"It was a good 24 hours": Ukrainian Armed Forces kill almost 1,000 Russian occupiers in one day

It’s just frustrating because we can’t get a really good picture of what’s going on with the war without accurate numbers for both.
Posted on 10/30/22 at 8:32 am to GeauxxxTigers23
I think that the best recent estimates are about 60,000 Russian dead and half that for Ukraine.
Russia has lost a lot more, but the losses for Ukraine are still very high. This is a war that is killing a great many people.

That would be a big blow to Russia. Unlike the Moskva which was an older Soviet era ship, the Admiral Makarov has only been in service since 2017 so it’s one of their more modern ships.
Even if it’s just damaged it’s still a big loss to Russia. Russia has been using its naval forces to protect Sevastapol and Crimea from raids by the Ukrainian Air Force. If the Admiral Makariv is in dry dock for a significant amount of time then Russia loses a big part of their SAM coverage over Sevastapol.

MO for instance has almost hourly updates which they pass along or not pass along to the other ministries so they can adjust things accordingly including widows pensions disability pensions etc. you’d be surprised who has access to these numbers.
without accurate numbers for both.

I don’t believe them at face value but I think that they are way more accurate than Russian claims. I usually take the Ukrainian claims and divide by 3.

There’s still a lot of mixed reporting about the fate of the vessels. Last night the Russians were forcefully pushing the propaganda claim that all attacks were repulsed and there was no damage. That seems impossible in light of other reporting. It took about 3 or 4 days to get confirmation that the Moskva had been sunk.
Is there anything definitive yet?
