They are basically idiots who not only drink but chug Putin's propaganda via nutter websites. Lots of pedos among the Iranian mullahs.

Have no means to agree or disagree from a tactical perspective, I’ve just thought their attempts to blame Ukraine were a farce and find the historical throwback quite interesting. Especially since it’s Russia.

Why do you care so much about a Slav on Slav gang fight?

How would it affect the water supply to Crimea if this dam is blown?

That was one of my original questions ITT when it was posted. I don’t think anyone ever had a good response other than I think most of us think it may be a negative. Sorry if I’ve missed someone’s answer on that.

Russian lads are really fighting for Putin's ego. Imagine how that feels.

Back in the 90s, when I worked in politics for a living, I encountered a fair number of people who totalized the abortion issue. Their logic would go something like this:
"Abortion is a horrific genocide. Our country has killed tens of millions of innocent babies. It's wrong to be patriotic, because our nation is evil."
It's often the same on the Left, who say that our nation is evil because it's racist, or because there's inequality.
It's so sad that the Right is doing that now with LGBT. I oppose the LGBT agenda, but I also know that doesn't make America evil, and it certainly doesn't prompt me to support despotic tyranny.
America has problems, but the smart way to work it is simply to work to change them. They can be changed -- those of us on the Right need only look at the Dobbs decision.

That’s all well and good, but if they’ve already committed treason, they should start killing loyal Russian troops.

Tactially, if Russia is forced across to the left bank of the river, they absolutely should blow the dam.
All the reports I have seen from links that have been accurate to date have the Russians ONLY evacuating civilians. They are digging in and plan to stay.

It would disrupt the flow of the water through the Crimean Canal. On the other hand, keep in mind that Russia managed to keep Crimea with a water supply from 2014-2022, when there wasn't any water flowing through that canal.

Wrong question to ask considering Putin and his generals claims to more than Ukraine.

I’ll be honest. I care more about the far left progressive agenda than I do the war in Ukraine. The far left can affect my life much more than whatever the frick happens in Ukraine. No Russian soldier has ever voted to put some crazy democrat in office, uppity dipshits from Portland did. I say “Bombs for Portland, not for Putin!” That doesn’t make me a Putin supporter.

It's the internet, and social media in particular. It allows even the most fringe beliefs to find validation and reinforcement in a like minded community. There have always been people like that, but now they have a megaphone that downs out any attempt at compromise.
Democrats and Republicans used to have a knock down drag out debate, then go out to dinner together. That's how shite got done. Not by fiery speeches, but over steak and a glass of bourbon. True Believers used to hate that, and they've turned it from a virtue into a vice. Now nobody can be seen to be a compromiser, because that makes them a RINO or a DINO. Politics has always sucked. but it sucks so much more now.

Why compare these two situations as choosing one or the other in a decision?

Russia was only able to hold Crimea because the reservoirs on Crimea were full. They were almost bone dry in February and it will take years not months to refill them. So if Ukraine cuts off the water supply to the NCC then Crimea will be back to having a water shortage sooner than you think.

Thanks, WeeWee. I wonder how much water has gone through the canal this year and how long it would last.

A lot of water has gone through the canal but most was used for agriculture. Russia never really thought that they might loose control of the NCC until September so they didn’t prioritize filling the reservoirs. So I would estimate that they have less than 1 year of water in the reservoirs.
