There was popular sentiment in Crimea to join Russia but that doesn’t make their occupation anymore legitimate. If everybody living in southern New Mexico decided they wanted to be a part of Mexico it wouldn’t legitimize a Mexican annexation.

The American Revolution was just a French-organized coup against the legitimate British government.

It’s cool you’re in here trying to defend your honor. I get it, you’re a PT regular and when they look stupid, you do by proxy.
You’re just making it worse, though. You fall into the “weak principled intelligentsia” category I was talking about.

This thread is so awful
It was great until these assholes derailed it. Which I guess was their aim.

French monarchy paid for it, and then was executed for it. And 6 million dead later, Napoleon paid for it too.

The point being is that you seem to only be a puppet of the news media of whatever sort you get info from. IMO, 40 years ago the media was maybe 80% ignorant and lacking intellectual curiosity. Today that must be 99.5+% regardless of bias, if not outright bought and paid for.

Ahhh! There must have been fierce resistance to the invasion then. What was the Russian casualty count? Perhaps one of us missed that? OTOH, maybe Russian casualties were peculiarly low, given the operation. So? What were Ukrainian casualties?
Really? You don’t remember the first four months of the war? The complete flattening and destruction of Mariupol? The atrocities at Bucha? Millions of refugees? Entire towns bombed to rubble by the Russians? Any of that ring a bell?
Maybe you can look at the first few months of this thread. It’s all documented there. All that was when the Russian “liberators” were being welcomed as “heros” and not a single shot was being fired.
Jeez. Just when I thought the propagandists couldn’t possibly get any dumber.

Yep. This thread used to be about actual updates and military movements in and around the battlefield. It's devolved into a dumb arse carousel of bullshite opinions and petty attacks by undersexed idiots on both sides.

There just isn’t much to talk about since the lights went out in Ukraine. Probably going to be a big battle in Zaohorzhzhia coming up soon because the curtain is closing on Ukraine’s opportunity to take advantage of their numerical superiority on the battlefield to take back Russian territory. Ukes really wishing the attack on the Kerch bridge had not failed.

Derailing the thread is always their goal. They don't get traction on the political thread so they come here.

Seeing reports that Russia is gearing up for round 3 of missile strikes. Preliminary drone wave currently. Ukraine AD systems nearly exhausted. No idea if true.

And once again it did not fail, it was as much symbolic as strategic

Seeing a report that Ukraine SBU head of cybersecurity was killed in recent Russian missile strike on SBU headquarters in Kiev. Again, no idea if true.
