Why are the majority,in this thread, act like everything is going great for Ukraine? Putin just took the gloves off and had 50% of Ukraine energy infrastructure destroyed in 2.5 hours...hours not days.

I don't even think we had an election board for 2012 and before. That's how long people have been insulting me for being a libertarian. And people still pretend that I'm a Progressive

There might be 2-3 posters in this thread who have ever voted Democrat for in their life. The vast overwhelming majority of posters in this thread are solid if not hardcore conservatives. They just aren’t nut job, conspiracy theory loving extremists like you.
Like the Zelensky and Ghost of Kiev bs, this is another point that has been brought to their attention multiple times. They don't care. They either willfully ignore it, or they are just trolling. Either way, it's just best not to respond to them.

Sorry I’m going to need to see some proof. Everything on the internet is propaganda and there is no objective reality, so in short, I don’t believe you.

Ukraine’s Armed Forces liberate about 500 sq km in south – Humeniuk
The Armed Forces of Ukraine have eliminated more than 1,800 Russian invaders in the south of Ukraine over the past two weeks. Territories of almost 500 square kilometers have been liberated.
Natalia Humeniuk, the head of the joint coordination press center of the Defence Forces of the South of Ukraine, said this at a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine - Ukrinform.
She also added that, while retreating, the enemy mined part of the territory.
"We have advanced in various areas from four to several tens of kilometers. We have liberated areas of about 500 square kilometers. We can claim that the settlements of Kherson region - Visokopillia, Novovoznesenske, Bilohirka, Sukhyi Stavok and Myroliubivka have already been liberated today and are under the Ukrainian flag. However, shelling of these areas is still ongoing. While retreating, the enemy mined part of these areas, so all local residents should be careful. Over the past two weeks, we have eliminated more than 1,800 invaders, more than 500 units of armored vehicles, 122 tanks, two aircraft, two helicopters in the southern direction alone and about 10 cruise missiles," Humeniuk informed.
As reported, being almost completely encircled in the south of Ukraine, the Russian troops are looking for an opportunity to lay down their arms and surrender.

And the power is back on in most places. Hell, Putin took at least as much power infrastructure off the grid in 2013 (I believe) with hackers.
Took the gloves off? Give me a break…

The strikes on civilian infrastructure are widely reported. That’s one of the things that Russian hawks have been clamoring for more of - strikes on civilian or dial use infrastructure. They want to see every bridge, rail yard, dam, power plant, substation, and transmission line destroyed.
The hard liners are in tension with the earlier rhetoric which claimed that the only risk to invading Russians was that they would be crushed to death by the hugs from welcoming babushkas.
The war is certainly evolving, but it’s probably too little too late for Russia to achieve their strategic goals.

This is just an incredible one sided war.
I agree. I thought Russia would roll right over Ukraine, but after some hard won successes; Ukraine is rolling now. Right now it is all Ukraine.

I’m so proud of you. Is it awkward when you have to explain to Junior why dad can’t have a beer with the other dads during travel ball?

Most of the posters in this thread would label Stalin, Hitler, and Mao as far right. It is actually comical how warped their “version” of reality is. They have zip for integrity. Then again, they are goose-stepping communazis that are to the left of Mao, Hitler, and Stalin.
I can’t imagine running away from a request for a link to something that I posted...yet that is what happens in this thread.
It is like political Monkeypox has infested this thread as they arse blast each other repeatedly.
Pathetic.
no most here are conservatives
i would be considered a liberterian. I hate all the money we are spending but money spent in ukraine is better than what 90% of our other spending on shite liek gender studies in pakistan and other bullshite like that.
im all for the US pulling out of world affairs...but honestly that is not reality. SO in the mean time i understand a defeated Russia is good for US geopolitics and good for bringing Europe to our side, deinfluence of china, making china think twice on Taiwan, for lng sells to europe and bringing down putin...oh not to mention on getting the rest of nato to spend the required amount.
now i am a glass half full kind of guy on this and i am hoping this ends with the end of Putin and his type in Russia and we can begin a new era with them which brings them into the world economy like never before but that will take 2+ decades and a lot of changing in the mindset of their culture.
i also hope this makes us realize that we need to have a 2 decade long plan to move all major manufacturing back to the US as much as possible and need to bring the rest to mexico and other countries of central america.
with the right leadership in place(not biden or any of the current Dems for sure) this could turn out to be a huge win for the US.
honestly it shouldnt be about R & D politics. If you dont want to spend the money or help Ukraine....fine, that doesnt mean you should be cheering for Russia. Only a phycopath like Sir Winston would cheer for Russia.

History books will ultimately say that both sides lost this war.
Russia didn't get enough ground considering their relative power. They struggled getting supply lines out there early and it cost them.
Ukraine have financially lost their arse here and will need more money than what the US will cough up to rebuild into a stable nation.

Do you seriously think the RFAF could actually hit that many targets in 2.5 hours with their equipment?

The US is holding $300 billion in frozen Russian assets so that will be a good start.
