Our CIA doing work and sending a message to Putin with that car bombing.
Makes zero sense. There is no way to spin that car bombing as a benefit to the United States in any way. It can’t really be spun to benefit the Ukrainians. As for the Russians, they have an attractive martyrs to use to rally the population despite tens of thousands of dead soldiers and no plan for the goal or an exit.
As for whether it could be some unknown group is disaffected Russians, maybe. Probably not. My money is on Putin’s own people needing a dramatic event to rally the population.
Like I said when I first heard about it, whoever said, “Alexander, ride with me so we can talk” was directly involved.

Someday I would love to hear an ex KGB spill the beans on the responsible party for the terror bombing used to escalate the war against Chechnya. The possibility that Putin was responsible still strikes me as plausible

I could even see this being staged by Putin and his buddy Dugin. He said something along the lines of, all of the people in the Russian government are swine. Not the exact quotes, but if that were my daughter killed, I would have been going crazy. He just had his hands on his head and looked at the cameras. Could be an excuse for Putin to throw out everyone in his government, and become a real tyrant.

It could be Putin but that would make him look weak. I doubt he wants to look weak right now.

Well, you've won. Your warmongering party is over. But we know that's not the case. There is still my money to be spent in a country 6000 miles away.

That’s all it is with you warmongering simpletons.
You should really cool it with the insults, given how you react to insults yourself. Especially given you can’t even conceive any argument that doesn’t fit your very narrow pre-existing notions of how you feel about Putin’s demeanor, and never very pertinent facts, like why the frick did Putin bring up nuclear weapons if deterrence is his and the Russian State’s supposed reasoning for having them in the first place.

Say one positive thing I’ve had to say about Putin in this thread?
You have never reckoned with the actual behavior of the Russians at any point, and seem to refuse to even acknowledge when you paint yourself into a rhetorical corner. You seem excessively focused on US involvement, but seem to always avoid the key question, which is ‘does this conflict exist in a world where the US and the West are not involved?’ The Russians have been so clear on this and so clear on what they actually want, which you’ve ignored time and again. I know you are going to reply both in a piecemeal fashion as well as incredibly glibly, which is a sign of your almost unbelievable bad-faith. You are a maximalist the same as any of the ‘woke’ people you criticize. You don’t accept any viewpoint that doesn’t conform to your view of the world, and apply sloppy patterns of thinking wildly.

It feels like classic gangsterism, which is something Putin knows very well.

Many questions here but two float to the surface - why and how. Why was Dugin / Dugin's daughter targeted? What were they doing to attract this kind of attention? And how - whoever did this knew what they were doing. This bomb was very sophisticated, something that only a person trained in this type of weapon would be able to make successfully.
Seems to be overkill for a propagandist. There is more to this story than we know at present.

Just as crazy4lsu stated, gangsterism. It sent a strong message to someone, but to whom in Russia, by Russian.
It would definitely be anti Nazi to off Dugin who has long pushed for Russia to rule Europe and even Asia

UPDATE ON UKRAINE 22 August 2022
INTELLIGENCE UPDATE
On 15 August 22, Ukrainian social media channels circulated a video which reportedly showed elements from a military unit of the self-proclaimed Luhansk People's Republic (LPR) delivering a declaration outlining their refusal to be deployed as part of offensive operations in Donetsk Oblast.
The fighters claimed they had fulfilled their duty in securing the LPR's control over all of Luhansk Oblast, which was secured in July 2022, and were unwilling to fight in Donetsk Oblast despite threats and intimidation by senior commanders.
Russia is likely increasingly struggling to motivate the auxiliary forces it is using to augment its regular troops in the Donbas. Commanders are probably resorting to direct financial incentives, while some combat units are deemed unreliable for offensive operations. A consistent contributing factor to these problems is Russia's classification of the war as a 'special military operation' which limits the state's powers of legal coercion.

Is this the 4th or 5th time which Russia claims to have destroyed HIMARS?
"Long-range, high-precision Kalibr maritime missiles in the area of the settlement of Maiorskoye, Odessa region, destroyed an ammunition depot with US HIMARS missiles and anti-aircraft systems," Russian Army spokesman Igor Konashenkov said, as reported by the TASS news agency.

It’s reported that the Ukrainian Forces struck another blow on the Antonivsky bridge. There were about 8-10 hits.

I think that's about right. Could they have hit one? Absolutely, but I'm gonna need more proof than video hitting the 2nd story of a building.

RU have been refusing deserting/surrendering at a rate of approximately 50-150 per day. The fact that there are video declarations surprises nobody with up to date intelligence on the state of morale. What surprised me is the number of Belarusians making their way to Poland for military training with NATO troops stationed there and who are going on to fight for UA. It’s approaching 3000. Their motives are clear, to help out a democratic neighbor and to topple/weaken Luka. Russians and Belarusians are waging sabotage campaigns against their own infrastructure and Military interests, are they funded by interested third parties both foreign and domestic ? Bwahahahaha of course they are lol What’s interesting is how Russia is taking a boomerang right up the arse, removing and throwing it again and again to see if it fits any better…

According to the internet, the group "National Republican Army" did not exist prior to today. I suppose it is possible something was lost in translation. Jan 1 2022 to Aug 21 2022 search hundreds of results Jan 1 2022 - Aug 20 2022 search zero results A few of the details do sound familiar: radical group nobody has ever heard of, posting a manifesto, killing civilians. Sounds a lot like the domestic attacks by people known to the FBI over the last decade here in America.
Or a false flag by Putin. Like the one he came to power on.

Belorussia had been hot and cold towards Russia since 1991. No doubt that its head has been kept in power by Putin. Early this year, lots of sabotage there to rail by locals. Also, many joined the Ukrainian military as early as February.
No one who knows anything expects them to be a force against Ukraine, other than hosting Russian troops/missile sites
