Note the distances from Ukrainian positions and the targeting of Kerch for the first time.
Per my sauce(s) the Ukies have completed modifying their Migs to accept HAARM missiles as well as Harpoon cruise missiles. They are just waiting for a few more shipments of HAARM missiles before they start a systematic air campaign to take out the major Russian SAM systems in Kherson and Crimea and that includes the surface vessels of the Black Sea Fleet. My sauce(s) did not say when this would happen but did say that to expect an uptick in smoking related incidents in the near future. My sauce also confirmed that the Crimean Bridge is a legitimate military target, but the Biden administration is taking a page out of Harry Truman's book. They are saying that they will reduce aid if the Ukrainians strike it while the Russian civilians are trying to flee, or if the Ukrainians strike the part of the bridge that is located in Russian territory or Russian waters. Since most of the bridge is located in Russian waters the are limited to striking the 25% of the bridge in Crimean waters. The Ukrainians are not happy about those restrictions at all, because they messed up their plan use some Hrim2's to take out the arches of both bridge on August 25th (Ukrainian independence day), but they can still destroy the approaches to the railroad bridge because it is not a parking lot like the road bridge. So hopefully the Crimean bridge turns into the European version of the Yslu River Bridge in the near future.

JUST IN - Russia's Gazprom to halt gas deliveries via Nord Stream 1 to Germany for 3 days once again, citing "maintenance" reasons.
Good. Maybe this will help the Germans understand the folly of relying on Russia for anything.
Meh. Russia has been replaced by Norway as Germany's leading source of natural gas. Also Russia was planning on taking Nord Stream 1 offline for an extended period of time for maintenance once Nord Stream 2 was up and running. So this probably is nothing more than maintenance work.

And you aren’t intelligent enough to think ahead towards winter and what the Europeans are then going to have to say about the energy crisis. A sizable percentage of Europeans have my perspective on this war, and they are not stand for it. It’s easy for you to say when we’re just paying higher than normal gas and food prices. Not going to be that way in Europe.
Maybe they shouldn’t have supported this green energy bullshite and turned their back to nuclear energy to rely on Russian “dirty” energy then. You think they’ll feel sorry for us in the future as China grabs us by the balls?
I also don’t think there’s but a handful of posters ITT that has what an objective person would consider good perspective of the European populace’s opinion on this war, myself included. It’s not my history, I can read it, but my ancestry didn’t live it and pass it on.

Germany already is storing gas ahead of winter. 75% full on Aug 1st and will have 5 operational FLNG terminals the first of the year.
Keep getting your info from journalists and you will remain forever ignorant. I don't care if it is main stream media, Breitbart, Daily Wire etc. They have zero clue about anything technical and have proven that time and again for well over a decade.

Germany was planning to profit off of it with their patents being the designs approved by EU regs, not all but a great part of it. You cannot even manufacture toothbrushes in the EU without using German patented equipment due to some EU green reg which protects Germans from competition.
In essence, Germany is being hoisted from its own petard.

Which is on of the many reasons why the UK left the EU and more and more citizens in EU countries are becoming Euroskeptics every year.

Russia prepares provocations at Zaporizhzhia NPP on August 19 -
@DI_Ukraine
Licensed personnel instructed to remain home.
Rosatom representatives already left ZNPP.
Given the weapons at NPP, it is possible that ???? could stage real terrorist attack at Europe's largest NPP.

Oh f**k this could actually be the real deal. Hopefully it is just more of Russia's bluster, or Russia is just planning on disabling the electrical generation equipment and abandoning the plant. However if the Russians were going to cause a meltdown this would be the time to do it. The wind will be blowing east to west for the next week which means any radiation released will blow away from Russia and Thursday in Ukrainian Independence Day.

Key Takeaways
Recent Ukrainian strikes on Russian military and transport infrastructure in Crimea and Kherson Oblast are likely reducing Russian confidence in the security of Russian rear areas.
The situation at the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP) remained relatively unchanged on August 19 despite Russian claims that Ukrainian forces would stage a provocation at the plant.
Russian authorities are likely preparing show trials of Ukrainian defenders of Azovstal on Ukraine’s Independence Day in order to further consolidate occupational control of occupied areas of Ukraine and set conditions to demoralize Ukrainian troops.
Russian forces conducted limited ground attacks north of Kharkiv City, southwest and southeast of Izyum, east of Siversk, and south and east of Bakhmut.
Russian forces conducted multiple unsuccessful ground assaults on settlements on the Southern Axis.
Russia continues to generate regional volunteer units and will likely deploy many of them to Kherson and Ukraine’s south as part of the 3rd Army Corps.
Russian occupation authorities are strengthening their control of educational infrastructure in occupied areas in preparation for the approaching school year and may be sending Ukrainian children to Russia as part of a broader repopulation campaign.

Russian leader Vladimir Putin has said UN officials will be granted permission to visit and inspect the Zaporizhzhia nuclear complex.
The Kremlin made the announcement after a call between Mr Putin and French President Emmanuel Macron.
It came after UN chief Antonio Guterres told the BBC that he is "concerned" about the situation at the plant.
He said military activity around Zaporizhzhia must end and urged Moscow to grant access to inspectors.
Russia must leave nuclear power plant - UN chief
The site has been under Russian occupation since early March but Ukrainian technicians still operate it under Russian direction.
In a readout following the call between the French and Russian leaders, the Kremlin said Mr Putin had agreed to provide UN investigators with "the necessary assistance" to access the site.

I agree but it was beyond f**ked up for Russia to invade Ukraine. It was beyond f**ked up for Russia to commit mass murder of civilians in Bucha and Mariupol. So I don’t put anything past the Russians at this point.

If the Russians blatantly caused a big issue at a nuclear power plant just because they can will seriously risk escalating things because you screw with lots of countries when you have a meltdown. The new weapons package is 16 105 mm howitzers with 36,000 rounds of 105 mm. Most importantly they are sending more HARM missiles as well as more HIMARS ammo.
