To be fair, if Pelosi were shot down I wouldn’t exactly be upset

Klaipeda terminal is supplied by Norway. Looks like it can handle more than enough LNG to supply Latvia if Norway can send enough.

Also looks like they planned ahead. Reuters

quote:

VILNIUS, March 4 (Reuters) - Latvia will receive the equivalent of two tankers worth of liquefied natural gas (LNG) in April and May, supplied by the United States, Norway and Qatar as reserves against possible supply disruptions, state-owned energy group Latvenergo said on Friday.

quote:

The gas will arrive via the LNG import facility in Klaipeda, Lithuania and be injected in to the Incukalns gas storage in Latvia.

Latvenergo said the gas would ensure the production of electricity and heat at planned levels this year, while envisaging gas reserves in the event of an energy crisis.

Isw update super late today

quote:

Russian forces are likely prioritizing offensive operations toward Bakhmut and around Donetsk City at the expense of efforts to take Siversk and Slovyansk.

quote:

Neither Russia nor Ukraine produced new evidence regarding the cause or responsibility for the deaths of Ukrainian prisoners of war (POWs) at the Olenivka prison in occupied Donetsk Oblast.

quote:

Key Takeaways

Russian forces conducted ground assaults around Bakhmut and the environs of Donetsk City as well as southwest of Izyum. One assault east of Bakhmut made limited gains.

Russian forces did not conduct ground assaults near Siversk again, suggesting that they are deprioritizing operations in that area.

Satellite imagery showed Russian reinforcements concentrated near the Ukrainian border on the ground line of communication (GLOC) leading toward Izyum.

Ukrainian forces disrupted a Russian ground assault in Kherson Oblast with preemptive artillery strikes.

Ukrainian officials claim that damage to the railway bridge across the Dnipro near Kherson renders Russian forces unable to resupply their positions on the west bank of the river by rail.

Zelensky calls for evacuation of Donetsk region But how is that possible when all the war hawks in this thread kept telling me that Ukraine was winning?

If Russia launches an offensive to push Ukraine out of the rest of the Donetsk oblast Ukraine or Ukraine launches an offensive to retake the oblast depends to be seen. However, either way it appears like the next battle is going to be in the Donetsk oblast. Ukraine is calling for evacuation to save innocent civilian lives. That is the responsible and humane thing to do. It’s also required by the Geneva Convention. Ukraine followed the Geneva Convention called for the evacuation of Kherson before it launched its offensive to retake Kherson. However, Russia has not followed the Geneva Convention during any part of this war.

All I want to do is alleviate the number of deaths, yet you call me a coward for thinking your means will result in the deaths of thousands if not millions of kids. I’d be a coward not to stand up to that rather than the other way around.

Seriously. Seek help ASAP.

If Ukraine is going to use artillery to strike an area and hit some big targets, then they want civilians out of there. Seems like the right move, same with Kherson.

Will the Russians let them leave, or is that not even an issue?

Not admitting that you have a problem and/or not getting help is what a coward would do.

There is of course room in the Ukrainian Saints for St. HIMARS. I’m told 15000 RU won’t be bargained for but rather expected to fight their way out of the kettle. Best/worst of luck to them. I’m also told this morning that a former KGB man who knows how dangerous misinformation and omitted information can be has frightened his subordinates to the point where they are flat out lying to him rather than risking the truth. Reminds me of another military “strategist” that refused to hear actualities until the barbarians were at the gates knocking on the door. Ah well frickem.

Twenty years from now, Russia's economy will be smaller than it was in 2014. Western economies will have tripled or quadrupled in size by then. Russia will be light years behind its rivals in technology and subject to the worst Brain Drain ever seen on the planet.

And you're trying to spin that into some sort of net positive: "well at least they'll be insulated from further sanctions"
Further proof that isolationism never ends well

British Defence Intelligence
UPDATE ON UKRAINE 31 July 2022
INTELLIGENCE UPDATE

On 28 July 2022, Russia fired at least 20 missiles into northern Ukraine from Belarusian territory. This follows Russia's use of Belarusian territory to launch the main thrusts of its failed attempt to take Kyiv in February.

Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko continues to follow Moscow's line on the Ukraine conflict, stating on 21 July that Ukraine must accept Russia's demands for the war to stop.

His regime has become ever more authoritarian, with the expansion of the death penalty for'preparing terrorist acts. His increasing and baseless accusations of Western designs on Belarus and Ukraine likely indicate that he has become almost wholly dependent on Russia.

I agree. I always believed Patton was right. That Russia was going to be the next enemy. It turned out to be. The issue was that we both had weapons the other was TERRIFIED of. There was a three year window in which Russia had not yet stolen these weapons.

Garvillo Princip would be the best kill. Though it would undo so much of the last century. Would we even have jet aircraft and rockets?
Would we have computers? The military complex pushed development.

Not having the two world wars I wonder if that would turn out to be a negative, at least for the US.

Wow, a regular Nostradamus, what year did you come to this conclusion? ‘68? ‘74? , ‘81?
When did you enlist to oppose the Red Menace? Surely to took up Pattons cause since you both figured it out before the close of WWII.
