Considering that I put my hands physically on a decontaminated unit which an Iraqi born R&D chemist had repurposed to make chem weapons agents in CA, I beg to differ.
But does this one instance here necessitate the full scale invasion of Iraq and destabilization of the ME? Not arguing, asking for more thoughts. Quite frankly, I appreciate your posts.

The big problem was that the Bush Admin believed Iraqi expats on the follow up to toppling Saddam. They should have kept at least some Baath Party members involved in the reconstruction, and governance in post war Iraq, but didn't. Instead the post toppling handling was a clusterfark
Agree.
Most of my opinion on Iraq is centered around the belief the region and us were far better off with Saddam controlling Iraq after we put him in check in the Gulf War. Saddam served as a credible check to Iran. I also don’t think ME culture is very conducive to western style democracy in the first place. I personally don’t think there will ever be peace in the Middle East and we made it far less peaceful than it was.
We ended up destabilizing the entire region, increasing Saudi control, and eliminating a check on future stupidity on our part: Libya, creation of ISIS, Syrian civil war, etc. Likely none of this would have spilled into Iraq had we not taken out Saddam and destabilized Iraq, if it had it likely would have been significantly repelled without us. Iran wouldn’t be involved in Iraq as they have been since.

We should hold the Russians to account for this.
What's your plan? Why should "we" do it?

I've been saying the same thing about Syria, Libya, Yemen, etc. for a long time on this board. Hell the majority of my posts between 2012 and 2018 were about ME politics, none of them have been pro-war, and nearly all were critical of US policy.
Can confirm. These posts are where I learned to appreciate your knowledge. Cokebottleag was another in these threads I learned a good bit from.

I don’t know where we are at this moment, but last month we were 49% to average crop yield where the year before we were at 86%.
Your sources might be off quite a bit. Corn was late in planting due rains but the Corn Belt was close to 100% of last year's planting a month ago.
Total wheat crop is higher this year than last year. Soybeans on pace with 5 year average though cool weather and muddy fields hampered planting in a few northern states.
How much of your claptrap is comes from thin air, just made up by your head?

Expected an eventual retreat back to a north south ridge near Sloviansk about 2 months ago. The new weapons arriving will screw with Russian supply routes to an overstretched supply chain

And have no idea what any of those words mean.
Nobody likes an angry, bitter drunk. If you guys, opposed to US assistance , used this same energy writing to your Congressman instead of hijacking this thread....... Honestly don't understand what there is to gain by repeating the same angry talking points for pages.

You should realize that no one seems to be accounting for major fertilizer facilities coming online last year in Morocco and Nigeria.z
interesting that now all the overhype of food shortages, the grains markets have dropped in price. Someone made some real money on trading for a few months

Allowing Shia (pets) to control Iraq was not in anyone's best interest other than Iran.

Gulf War, no.
So you were okay w/Saddam invading Kuwait, slaughtering countless Kuwaitis, and controlling over half of the world's oil reserves?
Cool.Cool.

That makes at least 9 since June 27th

Cumulatively this can make a huge difference. The Russians have had a clear advantage in available artillery. The shells aren't smart but they are deadly if they can fire a couple of hundred a day. If the Ukrainians are actually blowing up the available stores of these weapons, this can have a real effect on Russia's capabilities.

There's a single person that believes both of these? Can you link me to some of these posts?

Sadly those quotes pretty generally sum up the views of many in this thread.

To be frank, I haven't read any of that from the same person, which would make the mutually exclusive point more meaningful. And I really haven't read it from all that many people in general. The desire to summarize the entirety of this thread into two distinct viewpoints and then ascribe them to the thread itself is idiotic.
