Two updates:
1.) Russia destroyed a munitions depot in Western Ukraine today.
“Russia’s defense ministry said the strike on Chortkiv destroyed a “large depot of anti-tank missile systems, portable air defense systems and shells provided to the Kyiv regime by the US and European countries.”
“Regional governor Volodymyr Trush said that four missiles fired from the Black Sea had partially destroyed a military installation in the town, about 140 kilometers (85 miles) from the border with Romania, on Saturday evening.“
2.) Russia has destroyed the final two bridges leading out of Severodonetsk, effectively trapping the remaining Ukrainian troops hiding in the industrial zone. It is essentially another Mariupol at this stage.
“The situation in Severodonetsk is extremely difficult,” said Luhansk governor Gaiday on Sunday, adding that by attacking the bridges, Russian forces wanted to cut off the city completely.
“Most likely, today or tomorrow, they will throw all reserves to capture the city and also possibly in other directions to cut and fully control the road” southwest to Bakhmut.”

Putin only respects strength. That is why he invaded Ukraine under Obama and Biden but not Trump. Backing down now would be a sign of weakness and make Russia more likely to escalate than standing up to Russia would. If you stopped being a hysterical fear mongerer you would realize that.

What?
Vietnam, Korea, Syria, Afghanistan (the first go round when the ruskies were fighting the Mujahidin).......
These were all proxy wars where USA fought another nuclear power either directly or through an intermediary.
They were just like this Ukranian conflict. No different, you just perceive it differently.

Except that the Ukrainians hold the higher ground across the river and have amphibious vehicles that can swim the river.

That is what Ukraine wants. It wants Russia to exhaust itself trying to capture a city that has no military value. Just keep feeding them Russians into the meat grinder.
