We did not give Ukraine $40 billion in cash. Stop lying about what was approved.

I never said we gave them 40 billion in cash so stop embellishing. We have given them a boat load of cash when we should only give the materials or weapons.

Ukrainian limited counterattacks in the southern Kherson-Mykolaiv sector appear to be gaining ground, and if the Kyiv advance keeps on rolling Russian military supply lines to Crimea could be endangered and Kherson liberated, military observers said on Thursday.

I got downvoted for simply describing the capabilities of the new drone the US will be providing. Another poster got upvoted for saying every Russian POW should be put in a cage and lit on fire.

Yet the people in this thread think they’re reasonable and sane. It’s actually an impressive site to watch.

You received 4 downvote....... Stop being a mellow dramatic queen.

I will not suggest DVs can occasionally be received for purely factual information on tOT, however, your post also had some editorializing in it. So it may be the DVs did not agree with your opinion.

Vladimir Putin's health is a subject of intense conversation inside the Biden administration after the intelligence community produced its fourth comprehensive assessment at the end of May. The classified U.S. report says Putin seems to have re-emerged after undergoing treatment in April for advanced cancer, three U.S. intelligence leaders who have read the reports tell Newsweek.

The assessments also confirm that there was an assassination attempt on Putin's life in March, the officials say.

Drone footage of 3 Russian tanks (advancing and being destroyed) in a mostly ruined urban landscape. This is the town of Marinka. Google map link showing the location

At the end of the video, look to the upper right of the burning tank and you can see some guy moving around between buildings.

We haven't heard much about Snake Island recently. This satellite picture shows current Russian deployments on the island.

Looks like they have really increased the amount of equipment deployed there.

So is it better to have Putin in office or for him to die?

Someone asked for a Kherson update...this is from ISW yesterday.

https://www.understandingwar.org/backgrounder/russian-offensive-campaign-assessment-june-1
quote:

The Ukrainian counteroffensive in Kherson Oblast has gotten the attention of Russian forces in the area, and the Russians are scrambling to secure the vital ground line of communication (GLOC) the Ukrainians have threatened. Ukrainian forces carried out a series of organized counterattacks targeting settlements on the eastern bank of the Ihulets River that are very close to a key highway supporting Russian forces further north. The Russians have responded by destroying the bridges the Ukrainians used in one of those counterattacks and other bridges across the river in an effort to hold their line against anticipated continued Ukrainian counter-offensive operations. Ukrainian forces are likely still close enough to the highway to disrupt its use as a main supply route, potentially undermining the Russians’ ability to hold against Ukrainian counter-offensives from the north.

Russian milbloggers are expressing growing alarm about the threat of Ukrainian counteroffensives in the areas Russian forces have deprioritized while concentrating on Severodonetsk. Russian milbloggers have increasingly focused on tracking the rate of Ukrainian counterattacks in late May.[1] Pro-Russian Telegram channel “Dmitriyev” (over 100,000 followers) reported that Ukrainian forces are fully capable of inflicting ”painful and cutting blows” on Russian GLOCs in Kherson, Kharkiv, and Zaporizhia Oblasts by July-August due to lack of adequate Russian defensive forces in the areas.[2] Former Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) officer and milblogger Igor Girkin claimed that Ukrainian forces “will grope for weakness” in Russian defenses in Kherson Oblast.[3] Russian milbloggers are effectively criticizing the Russian military command for endangering Russian territorial gains across other axes by prioritizing the Donbas offensive operation so heavily.

The Ukrainians have (reportedly) stopped using their Turkish drones for strike missions. They’re defenseless against air defense systems.

This was reported by a number of pro Russian commentators yesterday.

The Russians have around 22 BTGs in the area. The retreat from Kharkov was probably intended to pull the Ukrainians out of the city, and into the countryside, where it would be easier to target them.

My post about the Grey Eagle drone was factual and zero percent opinion. All I did was explain the capabilities of the aircraft. It happens to be my area of expertise. I fly manned reconnaissance aircraft as a contractor for the military and have flown drones very similar to the grey eagle in the past in the Middle East.

The Russians occupied the two towns that are obscured by the arrow, Fedorovka and Shestakovo. That would trap any Ukrainian forces to the north east of their position.

It supports the idea that the retreat was a trap.

The white lines are supposed to show where the Ukrainians are. It’s not a very useful way of depicting it though. Displaying where units are deployed would be better.
