Damn, Ukraine intel has to be the best on earth.
They are good but as my friend in Ukrainian intelligence told me. It's easy to track to them when they use their personal cellphones on Ukraine's state owned cell network. Hell even RT is broadcasting using wifi from Ukraine's network. That is how Ukraine was able to geolocate and take out the Russian motorized mortar right after the RT journalist sent it in. The only reason they did not take it out while the broadcast was live was because they had to move some artillery pieces around. Per my sauce with Ukrainian intelligence even texted the Russians on that mortar that they were about to die as the artillery shots were in the air and that at least two of the recipients opened the messages before impact. Ukrainian intelligence also sent the general who was killed in the Su-25 yesterday a text saying they knew what helicopter he would be flying on. After he got in the SU-25 they sent another text message saying you're still dead. My sauce was not able to confirm or deny if the Russian general read the last text or not. He also said that they are broadcasting that to Russian troops which is having a major demoralization effect on them, but they keep sending texts, phone calls, and tik tok videos over Ukraine's wifi network.

It's getting fewer by the day.

Here’s the 3rd Infantry Battalion of the 105th saying something pretty similar

More "presents from Ukraine" or is the Russian populace trying to tell Putin something?

Not directly on topic, but we’ve briefly discussed other actions as the west is focused on Ukraine. Also, good excuse to get this thing back on the first page since it fell off with the gun control pissing match that has dominated the evening.

Is this real? We shot down an ICBM? No fricking way.

Don’t know yet, just says fired at, not shot down.

The tweet says we fired surface to surface missiles. Which we implied we struck the launch site with something like a tomahawk cruise missile or some other similar weapon. I highly doubt we did that.

(Seoul=Yonhap News) Reporter Jung Bit-na and Kim Ji-heon = North Korea launched an armed demonstration of three ballistic missiles, including intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBM) shortly after U.S. President Joe Biden's trip to South Korea and Japan on the 25th.
In particular, it is also analyzed that it was aimed at neutralize the Korea-U.S. missile defense network by mixing a mixture of missiles believed to be ICBM 'Mars-17' and short-range ballistic missiles called the North Korean version of Iskander (KN-23). All of these missiles are capable of carrying nuclear warheads.
quote:
The military also took a strong response. "In response to ballistic missile provocations, Elephant Walk and the Rik-U.S. coalition ground missile fire was fired," the Joint Chiefs said.
South Korean and U.S. missile units have demonstrated the ability of rapid blow by the coalition to curb further provocations of North Korea by launching the South Korean-II and U.S. military ATACMS atACMS at sea, one time each.
The joint response from the Korea-U.S. military authorities to North Korea’s strategic provocation is the first time in four years and ten months since July 2017. Apart from that, the Air Force said it had pre-detracted and continuously tracked signs of North Korea's ballistic missile provocations the day before, and carried out more than 30 F-15K fighter jets carrying out on the runway with armament for the actual launch.
Elephant Walk Training is a training in which a number of fighters are equipped with the maximum armaments and run on the ground just before takeoff. "This armed protests in our military have demonstrated the ability and attitude to precisely strike the origin of the provocation with overwhelming power and the willingness to respond decisively to any provocation, such as the launch of the ICBM in North Korea," he said.
Lee Yoo-cheol, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, said he reaffirmed that he would share the situation closely and strengthen the situation through a video meeting shortly after the launch of North Korea's ballistic missile.
"North Korea's ICBM launch is a violation and a serious provocation act of 'U.N. Security Council resolution' by another destruction of the ICBM launch that North Korea has promised itself to the international community.
Looks like our launch was as symbolic as theirs. Doesn’t seem like we shot them down, but used defensive missile system to show we’re ready.

We have the THAADs deployed to South Korea. Both the US Navy and the ROK Navy have ships which carry SM-6 missiles so we have the capability to shoot down an ICBM. The question is do we have the will power to shoot one down?

ISW @TheStudyofWar #Russian forces have likely abandoned efforts to complete a single large encirclement of #Ukrainian forces in eastern Ukraine and are instead attempting to secure smaller encirclements—enabling them to make incremental gains.

ISW @TheStudyofWar Russian forces have begun steadily advancing efforts in these different encirclements daily but have not achieved any major “breakthroughs” or made major progress towards their stated objectives of securing the Donetsk Oblast borders or seizing all of Donbas.

ISW @TheStudyofWar Russian forces will additionally likely face protracted urban combat if they successfully encircle Severodonetsk (as well as in other large towns like Bakhmut), which Russian forces have struggled with throughout the war.
quote:
ISW @TheStudyofWar Russian forces are making greater advances in the past week than throughout the rest of May - but these advances remain slow, confined to smaller objectives than the Kremlin intended, and face continued Ukrainian defenses; they do not constitute a major breakthrough.

Looks like the Ruskies are trying to change the narrative again. I wonder how long before LW and Stidham and Palmetto come spewing about how Russia was not actually trying to encircle the Ukrainian forces all at once? Just like the regime change, the feints on Kiev and Kharkiv and Odessa, trapping the Ukrainian army in the Donbas was a distraction from their true goal of destroying villages and capturing a few kms of ground and getting 100-500 Ukrainian soldiers to surrender.

What Germany needed was the oilfields instead of Moscow. So the next year they try again and get sidetrack with Stalingrad.
