But I can totally imagine a Bama fan saying this.

No way dude. Palmetto pinky swears it was all just a feint and the "non-war" is going just swimingly for the Russians....
Putin has gone insane and decided to suicide his country, he’s in diapers pooping his pants per Ukrainian intel

Russia launched MASSIVE artillery, missile, and thermobaric weapon strikes on Lyman. No troop advances yet but obviously coming soon.

Putin is making military decisions on the junior officer level of command. I can think of another guy who did just that same thing because he thought he was a military genius. His name was Adolf Hitler. It got so hilarious that we actually wanted him to stay alive versus being assassinated because he was basically doing our job for us running his forces into the teeth of our armies and constant aircraft attacks wether it be by fighter or heavy bomber. Yet there are still idiots on here that think Putin is just biding his time to make his big offensive just like Hitler sat in his bunker moving chess pieces around his map of armies that no longer existed. I don’t know if some of these people on this board are just kids who don’t know what war really is or if they are trolls are who just get a kick out of stirring the pot but it’s very funny to watch them try to justify anything the Russian armed forces have done.

Hitler did what made sense on paper, the Nazis were never going to win the war

Except for the Ukrainians.
Are you including the 10 million Ukrainians that fled you Ukraine and Zelensky who was literally begging the entire planet to save him and his country in the days and weeks after the invasion?

Don't forget that Hitler ran amok for a while.

Hitler made wild gambles early in the war that worked because the opposition was unprepared. Later he wouldn't listen to the professionals because he thought he was smarter than them. Time and again he overruled his generals, making foolish decisions that cost Germany dearly and ultimately shortened the war. Hitler kept 500k troops in Norway until the end of the war past the point of any military usefulness, and allowed 200k to be cut off in the Courland Pocket because he refused to allow them to withdraw. 700k men that would have been available for the existential struggle in 1944-45, lost to Hitler's stubbornness and delusion of being a grand strategist.

You did not just make an argument for Hitler did you? Please name one thing he did that didn’t absolutely backfire on him. The man was a delusional drug addict that thought because he was a corporal in the WWI that made him more qualified than his own generals, many of whom were formidable adversaries if they didn’t have their hands constantly tied by uncle Adolf.

6 million women, children and old folks fled. Fighting aged men stuck around.
"I need bullets, not a ride" isn't exactly begging - it is the truth.
Putin's biggest miscalculation was Zelensky's ability to rally his people.

Sloviansk is in their sights.

You don’t sound like someone that can remain calm and cordial for a WW2 discussion. The remaining German generals subscribed to the lost cause theory instead of blaming themselves for the lost. During the cold war and arguably now, there was a bias against soviet sources who fought the Germans and we favored the Germans because obviously they had fighting experience against the Soviets.

Please tell me how invading the USSR at the time was stupid? Just because it failed doesn’t mean it didn’t make sense at the time.

Explain how any of the decisions Hitler made in regards to Stalingrad were correct?

None because they would’ve never won Stalingrad regardless so answer my question now

He should have knocked England out of the war before he ever considered invading the USSR. Opening up a second front at that time was a terrible decision

So you admit that Hitler was highly incompetent as a military strategist?

With what navy? The English were stalled on their island or limited to North Africa at the time. They lacked the manpower and resources to invade the continent.
Also, waiting gives Stalin more time to recover and build up his military for the incoming war against the Nazis.
