Not much of the interior left. I believe in 30-45 days it'll
be completely flat. This is kinda hard to watch since I basically grew up there.

They are not fricking around. I guess all the proper kickbacks were done up front.

Amazon don't play. They are like the Chinese when they decide to build something.

Christ. SOOOOO many childhood memories from that place. RIP Cortana. Hell, RIP malls in general.

I don't mean anything political whatsoever. I mean that once they decide to build something, it gets done and they are willing to throw in whatever resources necessary to get it done quickly.

Without Amazon's clout, this demo and rebuild would take 5 years in Louisiana with the amount of brothers-in-law that would need subcontracts and change orders.

Back in february when the amazon deal was announced, I drove by the place one last time to take pics including inside and at one of the doors was this homeless dude with a metal hook for a hand, he was missing an eye and he had a mean scowl that could make you sweat.

Kept more than a healthy distance.

I think Baton Rouge (and Louisiana) were desperate for some economic good news and gave them kickback waivers.

Can someone tell me what they're going to do with the firestone tires shop on the site? I see that it's fenced out of the demo site.

Are they going to leave it up and Amazon uses firestone to service their fleet or will they demo it eventually like they will with dillards when it closes in may?

Also, what do they do with all the steel and concrete from the demo?

Do they recycle it? Dump it somewhere to rot?
