All that space and semis won’t be allowed to take their 10h break there.

Parking around BR was already near impossible.

Service Merchandise

Wasn't that like a cross between Academy Sports and Bass Pro sorta? I don't recall what they actually sold.

They also sold electronics, appliances, and jewelry. Toys too.

Also, what do they do with all the steel and concrete from the demo?

Do they recycle it? Dump it somewhere to rot?

Steel gets recycled for scrap.

Concrete will likely be crushed onsite and used for base (that's what happened at Coca-Cola to Costco) and surplus hauled off.

Theres a huge pile in front of the old Service Merchandise building that's getting bigger. Looks like they'll recycle it.

They are not fricking around.

Amazon don't play. They are like the Chinese when they decide to build something.

The location in carencro has had a shite ton of heavy equipment since the beginning. More than any highway project I have seen around LA and that's just what you could see from I49 passing by.

I thought the FedEx in front of it was large as a metal building. Then amazon comes in with these massive prefabricated concrete walls with a structure that dwarfs fedex.

I remember everyone abandoning Bon Marche, which has a special character to it, for bland, souless Cortana since it was new

With the buildings gone, the nighttime crowd will have clear shots at each other from anywhere in the parking lots.

How bad had the homeless problem gotten over there? I hadn't been over there in years.

It is a sadness.

So many memories as an 80s kid, shopping with Mom (RIP) and Pops19 (RIP) meeting us after work for a Piccadilly supper.
