He fought for free speech in its purist form. One thing I just learned that I didn't know, was that the guy who shot him was a serial killer. And he was never charged for shooting Flynt & some civil rights activist, because he confessed to the shootings when in jail. In which he received 6 life sentences and 2 death sentences.
I thought he was shot at by some religious fanatic.

I know a man who was a Sergeant in the Federal Bureau of prisons who knew Flynt as he was serving his time at Butner FMC. He said he was the most vile inmate he ever had to deal with. He required extensive nursing care by the nurses due to his paralysis. He would throw feces on them and call then the C word and such as they were caring for him.
