I don’t care what someone does in their home. But when I’m driving down the street and that stink permeates my car or I get on the elevator downtown and an enveloped in that odor, I tend to agree with him. I don’t believe smoking has no affect on the driver’s reflexes.

There’s no point in smoking unless everyone else knows I smoke.

JBE, and the other governors that put in draconian rules, should be tried and convicted of treason for the absolutely insane abdication of individual rights as defined by the Constitution.
I agree with you but that means Trump my brother. JBE followed the White House guidelines to the letter that was given to him by Trump. Actually, there were times JBE was less strict than the whitehouse guidelines

To me yes this is stupid, but I’ll take him everyday over JBE. I’ll never forget with that cocksucker did in this state during Covid. Anybody > JBE

I agree JBE should be held accountable for what he did during COVID. What's crazy is the many of the people who want to hold JBE accountable at the same time want to reelect Trump though which I'll never understand.

And just because JBE sucked in COVID doesn't mean Landry would be any better and from what he's shown thus far probably worse. I can't hold him to a hypothetical that he didn't do though, just all the bullshite he's done in office so far

I did not read the whole bill so I may be off on what it was trying to do. But a lot of first time weed offenders were also arrested for other things. Before trial they pleaded guilty to weed possession and had a bunch of other charges dropped. This saves the state the money/time of a trial and the criminal has to spend some time in jail. I don’t think these criminals should be pardoned under the guise of they only had a little weed.
You have been lied to. Usually when there are more serious charges involved, the weed charges are the first to get dropped. The only time it is the opposite is when they don't have the evidence for the other charges.

I wasn’t lied to. I just finished law school and spent quite a bit of time in the courthouse. I watched it happen. The lie being told is that the Louisiana prison system is full of non-violent, clean record having, first time offenders for possession of small amounts of weed.

There are so many people walking around NO and BR with rape, assault, manslaughter, etc. convictions

I'm sure with enough leftist propaganda from the state run media outlets some low T NPCs will actually think this.

Then Landry should have based his veto on that instead of "Hurr Durr Joe Biden."

Democrats want big government at the big government level.

Republicans want big government at the state level.

Then you need to be put in a camp until you are ready to accept big government.

Didn't they also pass a bill legalizing drug paraphernalia? Did that one get vetoed as well.

Separate legislation that seeks to decriminalize the possession of marijuana-related paraphernalia is also awaiting action from Gov. Landry. If enacted, first-time offenders will face a maximum penalty of a $100 fine. Under current law, the possession of marijuana-related paraphernalia is punishable by up to 15 days in jail and a $300 fine

shouldnt even be a fine.

I love when people spend more time focusing their efforts against cannabis and support wasting an insane amount of time in legislation to ban it from public or wherever due to "the smell"...but don't ever bring up the fact that areas of Louisiana LITERALLY have shite and piss filled streets and no one bats an eye or wants to spend time fixing that issue.

Priorities, right?

The White House launched the “Opening up America Again” (OuAA) website on April 16th. Along with these guidelines, President Trump used his powerful Twitter account to encourage protestors (mainly composed of his supporters) to “liberate” Michigan and Minnesota, two states with Democratic governors who imposed strict social distancing restrictions

Liberal states and counties stayed shutdown longer because OMB.
