A 2.4-acre tract of land near Baton Rouge Country Club has been sold for $1.3 million to a developer who plans to build a 13-lot subdivision on the property.

Homes in Brentwood Park will range in size from 2,000 to 3,000 square feet, with prices starting at $500,000. Development of the land is expected to be finished by the end of the year, with home construction set to start in early 2020.

“Homeowners are eager for custom options in this price range,” Pike said. “Given the level of interest we’ve already received, we expect these to sell out very quickly.”

More starter homes to raise OT larvae.

Sounds trashy. The bluehairs at BRCC can't be pleased.

It'll be really cool to open your window and reach across and borrow some rice from your neighbor's kitchen without leaving yours.

I drive Brentwood every day and I can't seem to locate 2.4 acres of land to develop. Where are they gonna jam this subdivision??

I love people complaining about "McMansions" makes it easy to identify the lower middle class folks that I don't want to be around.

Yeah forgot about that. 500k to live in a shitty place where you can hear your neighbors bang because you are so close. What a steal...

13 homes on 2.4 acres? I live on 6 acres and wish I had more privacy. I don't see how people live like that. I guess if you grew up in those conditions then you don't know any better.

BRCC may as well be Beverly Hills compared to Tuscaloosa.

Who would do that anywhere near Baton Rouge. Not a sound investment

Definitely not lower middle class. I just wouldn't spend that amount of money to have the same floor plan, general finishes and zero yard as the house 4 doors down that is identical. 13 homes? I'd be surprised if there were more than 3 designs and floor plans to choose from.

From a builders perspective, they save on buying materials and know down to the nail what each house needs which saves them money and can sell overpriced.
